Hi there! It’s really important to pick wisely when it comes to kids’ apps! I have personally been playing this arcade game: https://itunes.apple.com/en/app/electricity-run-game/id963759829?mt=8 and since it’s 4+ rated on the App Store, I thought about letting my 4 year old try it out. It happened that he loved it and now plays the arcade title daily! However, you will sadly not find it on the play.google.com store, it’s not yet a multiplatformer. Other educational apps that I have earlier tried includes; Little Fox Music Box by foxandsheep.com, Monkey Preschool Lunchbox for some studying and Angry Birds for the fun and action. On the other hand, Sago Mini Toolbox is an app that I wanted to try out, but never really found the time. Check it out at https://www.sagosago.co/, you might like it!

Hi, anyone know any fun and educational apps for kids?

My 6 year old is new to the iPad and has been enjoying Coin Catcher very much. He learns need recognition through catching items. Definitely recommend this app for kids.

Any similar apps out there? Cheers

I downloaded a great little educational game for my 7 year old. It's called Shapeorama - a shape jigsaw style of game & very cool.

My daughter loves the TocaBoca games but she is almost 4 years old so a bit of a different age.

My daughter, now almost 6, has also enjoyed many of the Toca Boca games.

Seeking App Developers of Children’s Apps for an Interview

Researchers at the University of Florida are interested to know more about the design and development processes followed by professional developers to develop children’s applications. We are seeking interview participants of ages 18 or older to provide insight into the current touchscreen application design process adopted by app developers.

The interview will take between 40 and 60 minutes. Sessions can be scheduled at your convenience. There is no compensation for participation.
Contact the researchers at nsoni2@ufl.edu for more information or to volunteer.
