If you see an app updated for the X can we post it here please. Will be good to see if any apps you like to use have a competitor that updates sooner.

Readly was updated today and said...Compatibility with future devices which I presume means updated for the X.

Any more?

Our app Weather Gods just got approved by Apple for its iPhone X update. We had to make a fair few screen adjustments to avoid the safe areas around the notch and the bottom of the screen. We also took advantage of the extra height / width (landscape).

May I ask you a technical question? I’ve been searching and searching for a weather app with good UI and accurate readings for my home neighborhood. The accurate weather thing sounds easier than it is, and I’m not sure why. The stock weather and the weather channel use same data, which is the least accurate. The yahoo weather app is significantly off too often (though better than TWC), and weather underground seems the most accurate, but I’m not a huge fan of the UI.

Granted, I’m in SoCal, within walking distance of the ocean, but that’s the only thing that could be throwing things off so badly. Unless I’m grossly underestimating the difficulty, which is probably it.

Any thoughts about why things are so crazy for me, and whether your app might solve things?

Our app uses a combination of IBM Bluemix Weather and Dark Sky. Weather Underground appears to use the Bluemix Weather data as well from some crude comparisons I've carried out.

The thing about weather forecasting is that it can change on a dime. The widget screen is also a bad place for comparisons as not all apps will pull latest weather data at the same time. Some apps will cache and be less eager to update - the advantage is it saves on your battery. Our app will update periodically in the background IF you permit background refresh. I've noticed some apps seem to stick as well and not update. Finally, IBM offer point based forecasting so depending on an apps understanding of your current location or a chosen location, the coordinates might be slightly different - leading to a different forecast.

We feel our app has an amazing UI - the weather wheel is like nothing else, and the animated gods have great expressions. We also use data from two of most trusted and accurate data sources.

I wouldn’t count on Facebook. They STILL haven’t updated for the 12.9 iPad Pro and that was released in 2015! It’s quite pathetic really.

I think both the instagram and facebook are more focused on mobile phones. Their ipad apps are terrible.
