Well YouPlayer seems to work fine with the video that won't play. It's free and paid

Went and bought Protube. At least with Pic-in-Pic and background playback this much better than Googles app. Even though I also get some weird errors IMHO it's still worth the 3 bucks.

Yeah I like the Pic-in-Pic feature!

The alternative sometimes works for me but for one video it still requires me to play it on youtube.com yuck.

This is the errors I get:

"You do not have permission to access the requested resource. Try the alternative player."

When I click try the alternative player I get this error:

"This video contains content from WMG. It is restricted from playback on certain sites. Watch on YouTube."

ProTube update came out. I can now play that Adele song. You may want to try and see if it fixed your issues, too. Still no 60fps support, though.

I'd take 60fps over either. Why? Because most YouTube videos are 1080p or lower. Plus, you know, the iPad Pro isn't even close to 4K res. :)

It's not just the resolution. With 4K and 1440p the bitrate is higher, and that is why such Youtube videos look noticeably better even on screens that aren't 4K. Like for example my 15" retina MBP.

Oh of course that's true. But there's not that many 1440p/4K videos on YouTube, whereas 60fps videos are popping up daily. I'd take both, personally. :D

Tweetbot is optimized for the iPad Pro right out of the box. I wish Facebook and Twitter would catch up, because it's, you know, only built into iOS.

The fun fact is that I think the Twitter app IS optimized, it just sucks. A sensible person uses some other app, for example Tweetbot is optimized and I think its pretty nice.

Facebook Messager is optimized, but the old normal iPad is not, and its horrible on the Pro. Its better to use the website.

Couple games I've noticed that were updated and support the Pro:

Roller Coaster Tycoon 3
Fallout Shelter

Spotify was also updated and has an excellent UI - really great to use on the Pro.

RCT3 was not updated yet- at least I haven't seen an update.. Do you perhaps mean (Atari's franchise ruining game) RCT4 Mobile? That's the only one that's had an update in the past months at all...

Really? I didn't look at update notes or anything, I just played it and noticed everything appeared to be scaled appropriately and only a handful of assets looked "blurry" so I assumed it had been updated. Maybe the interface is just more compact in general even on the Air?
