Could you please concentrate on the main subject of this thread? I think we have already discussed about if it is good to talk about it or not. Nobody is forced to participate! I have already explained why I created this thread.

As a non-dev and non-iOS4.2 user, I appreciate the thread. You can be sure that i will be watching the list for any must work apps before i upgrade. I'm sure that 90% of the list will be updated on time, but my luck, I use one of the 10%, which will mean I will need to wait and research more....

So, thanks for the thread!

  • I can reproduce the Pages issue.
  • I do not have a problem with Weather HD.
  • I do have a problem with Twitter not remembering its state but that's been in ever since the beta version first came out.
  • iCabMobile doesn't render Flickr properly.
Did iCab render the Flickr Website properly before the update? Can anyone confirm this?

Looking at this again it appears I was wrong. Safari, iCab and Atomic all show quite thick horizontal lines on the Flickr home page. These appear as much finer dotted lines on the iPhone and in Chrome on my work PC so it is clearly a general rendering issue on the iPad rather than an app specific issue.

Firstly, I don't think apple care about who uses a GM release if anything it reduces their server load come launch date. Most average users or the public as they are now called wont go to the effort of obtaining a beta or GM version.
I however am a Dev and thought this thread was actually useful to highlight any outstanding issues. Of course youcant expect fixes prior to a public release but no one said they should be.

Anyways 4.2 seems to have returned my 3g to a useable state so I'm happy.

Haven't found any major bugs in the os yet either

Wow this pathetic thread is really fair to developers. Trashing their apps names saying they don't work and halting sales of their apps. Really well thought out.

Yet another reason why I wish Betas were only available to developers who understand this stuff.

+1

Your concerns are better routed to the developers. Also you should give them a chance to update their apps, they just received this GM as well. A thread like this should be made when iOS 4.2 is released to the public.

adding to the list:
chuchu rocket crashes
zinio, when downloading and switching to other apps and then switching back to zinio, will cause zinio to hang.

Tap Studio keeps crashing. Ack!

It's my favorite app and it is the only that doesn't work. Granted, it's an iPhone app, but it still worked perfectly fine in 3.2.1.

Hmm game center doesn't work well with both devices logged in.

Log into game center on iPhone

Log into game center on iPad

Friend sends a game request to play fruit ninja

Ipad prompts and asks me to purchase the game from the app store

iPhone (which has the game installed) is ignored and there is no alert.

Log out of both devices

Log into iPhone game center.

Friend sends a request and iPhone displays notification and game is played.

Game center servers don't be seem to handle more than 1 device having game center activated under the same apple ID.
