Earnings will most likely be the week of April 20th and I can see Apple wanting to have the Watch released prior to earnings so they can talk about the first week or two of the Watch launch.

My best guess is prior to April 17th for this reason.

Ooooooh fantastic point!

Would put money on the fact that they want to give themselves as much time for production as possible.. My prediction is April 24th but I could see the 17th happening too

This is correct. The release will be on Friday April 17th or 24th, with earnings announced the following Tuesday. This will allow them to announce the first weekend sales which will be "far exceeded our expectations."

The Apple Watch won't be included in their 10-Q, subsequent event.

They could mention it in the earnings call. But they could also mention it in a press release. That said, Apple has said they won't break out watch sales like they do iPhone, iPad, and Mac sales.

Now that the event has been scheduled for March 9th, I'm gonna change my predictions: Pre-Order March 27th and on sale April 10th.

I'm keeping mine. April 17th most likely, possibly the 24th. Depending on when they announce earnings.

They will not include the Apple Watch in earnings (it is outside the window), but like every other launch they will make a statement about first weekend sales.

I do agree that we could have preorders starting at the end of March, which would give Apple enough time to determine the demand for the watch and band types that are most popular.

My heart says a media invite for the official Apple Watch launch will be sent out tomorrow. So that would mean first week of April release. I have to get it that week because I will be traveling the weeks after that.

My mind says, at the end of the day, it will be officially available to the public last week of April with the first week of April as the official media launch event.

What did my heart win so far?

I am good or what? :D

I'm sticking with April 3rd. Three weeks to launch would be a sweet spot, four weeks might be dragging it a bit.

For reference, the iPad was announced on March 5th and shipped on April 3rd. I just think any longer than a month would give the hype too much time to die down. It's obviously anyone's guess at this point but the 10th and the 17th seem to be the most probable. I'm excited!

April 3rd is Good Friday, though. Doubt they would launch on a major religious holiday.

If it's material they will.

I remember a forum/post about people sharing info about How crowded the line at Apple stores on the night the iPhone 6 lunched
I hope it will be the case this time also

Why do you hope so? Surely then it will be harder to get one?

I likely voted for the "wrong" guy. I voted near the end of April but now with the event (which I wrongly said probably would not happen) in early March the :apple:Watch is likely going to be in early April.

This is what I want him to say too, the availability in US, Canada, UK, and Aus.

I've just got a horrible feeling we'll end up waiting until late May to get it. iPad didn't ship until late May 2010 in the UK (not sure about Canada and Australia) and it looks like the Watch will ship almost 5 years to the day of the US iPad Launch.

Late April-Early May I can deal with, but late May it going to be excruciating!
