I was planning on doing the same after your post. It looks like it costs $5 to unlock the bundle and another $5 for the App itself. Is that correct? What other apps do you feel are worth adding to the bundle?
Yep. I bought iStat, Drive DX, WALTR 2 and Subtitle Studio.

My kryo M.2 is holding at 37C. It's never gotten hotter than 47, maximum on a 970 EVO appears to be 81

After reading this thread, I wanted to make sure my PCIe strategy will work when I upgrade my MP 2010 3.46GHz 6-core.
I read earlier in this thread about "dumb" NVME cards and I wanted to pass my proposed setup by you guys and make sure it will fly. I plan on adding a kyroM.2 card (and maybe an RX 580).

Current PCIe slots:
1-Radeon Sapphire 7950 Mac Edition GPU
2-Velocity Duo x1 with a 2.5" 500GB Samsung SSD boot drive on the card and a cable to a 3TB WD Black HD in the optical bay running at SATA III.
3-USB 3.0 card with two USB ports that share one controller.
4-Sonnet Allegro USB 3.0 card with 4 ports that each has its own controller.

Planned PCIe upgrade:
1-Radeon Sapphire 7950 as before OR new Radeon Pulse RX 580.
2-Velocity Duo x1 as before but in the role of a clone backup boot drive.
3-kyroM.2 EVO with a 1TB Samsung 970 EVO. New boot drive.
4-The same Sonnet Allegro USB 3.0 card as before.

I read (and may have misunderstood) that their might be an issue with the Velocity and kyroM.2 cards running in tandem. Is this true? Or perhaps a different order for the cards would help (switch the kyroM.2 to slot 4, etc.)

Thanks, Maris

970EVO will work, but the 970EVO Plus is incompatible with macOS. Your config should work fine after you upgrade your BootROM to 140.0.0.0.0.

Thanks and obrigado! I saw the warnings about the Plus in the NVME thread and order the original 970 EVO, I should have added that to my post-almost did. I'm all set with 140 as well. The knowledge base here is amazing!

It’s going to be hard to fit an RX580 plus 3 cards.

I have the Velocity solo card and run the Kryo M.2 simultaneously. Don’t know if the Duo card has issues. The Kryo M.2 *just* squeezes in above the RX580. I might add a spacer of some type just to be safe. There’s no interference in that link above, but it’s a little close for comfort.

I'm a bit concerned as well. I have heard the RX 580 is relatively thick and needs room the "breath". The kyroM.2 is fairly thick as well due to the heatsinks on both sides of the card. I'll probably slide it into slot #4 to keep its own heat separated and move the Sonnet USB 3 card to slot #3, keeping the Velocity in #2.

You don't have to use both heatsinks. The version I bought only has the one on the top of the drive.

This is the one I bought:
https://www.amazon.com/Aquacomputer-KryoM-2-Adapter-Passive-Heatsink/dp/B01H0BC8FG/ref=sr_1_fkmrnull_2_sspa?crid=2JNGDPYSIN87L&keywords=kryo+m.2&qid=1552806709&s=gateway&sprefix=kryo+m.,aps,142&sr=8-2-fkmrnull-spons&psc=1&smid=A3GO5VFCNOM5I7

This is the one with two heatsinks and cool LED's (if that's your thing)
https://www.amazon.com/Aquacomputer-kryoM-2-adapter-passive-heatsink/dp/B06ZZX417T/ref=sr_1_fkmrnull_1?crid=2JNGDPYSIN87L&keywords=kryo+m.2&qid=1552806709&s=gateway&sprefix=kryo+m.,aps,142&sr=8-1-fkmrnull

The one I bought is $37USD and the LED version is $65USD.

The worst temperature I've measured with one heatsink is 59c (probably during my clone restore)

Hello, everyone.
At the moment I have my 1tb 860 EVO M.2 in a generic 1x pci card that migrated from my much older pc. My 5.1 boots fine from it. But won't boot from Kryo card (the one with leds.. didn't notice there was option without them!). Anyway, I'm on Mojave, 140.0... and I was expecting simply to swap the cards. But it doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Slot1 HD7970
Slot2 AJA Kona LHI
Slot3 Sonnet USB3
Slot4 NVME

Thank you very much!
