I am thinking about getting a pair. How much better do these sound from the normal earpods? Also, I know they aren't noise cancelling but can you wear them on a train and not be bothered by the outside world.
What do you mean? So the Lighting earpods that came with my ip 8 + is better in terms of sounds? than the airpods?I don't think you'll be happy with them. You can hear ambient noise around the current generation of Airpods. MacRumors recently had a story about a rumored over-the-ear model that they said would be noise-cancelling, so you might want to hang on for more news.
it cost $167.42 here. should i wait for the new Airpods or buy this?
No, AirPods definitely sound better than the EarPods. More bass, clearer highs. What do you mean? So the Lighting earpods that came with my ip 8 + is better in terms of sounds? than the airpods?

For me the AirPod sound too low in volume they are not too loud and they lack horribly in BASS ! Apple needs to work big time on these issues !!
As for as the sound, in my opinion I think the Airpods are slightly better than the equipped earbuds that comes with the phone, but I’ve known some to say they sound slightly worse. So I’d say the consensus would be they are equal to each other in sound. However, I think their TRUE wireless capabilities and interaction with all apple products are the selling point. I use my Airpods with four different apple products on regular bases (2 phones, watch and iPad). I’ve had the Airpods for almost a year and these are the best I’ve had and the most expensive. If I can get at least two years of the same performance (I’ve had regular wired earbuds to last me as little as 4 months), then I can say they are worth the buy.

I said the same thing until somebody on an elevator told me what song I was listening to. So I thought it was just me.
No issues on the train....if they fit well.I am thinking about getting a pair. How much better do these sound from the normal earpods? Also, I know they aren't noise cancelling but can you wear them on a train and not be bothered by the outside world.
the default earpods fits perfect for me. assuming the airpods do the same, just ordered it lol hopefully i won't get dissapointedIf they fit your ears well and you can create a good seal (naturally or with some DIYs) they are great for their function, practicality and good sound (not the best but they are good) then I would say get them. I cannot use them cause they fall out of my ears and I can't produce a good seal naturally (tried my wife's set out).
The default earpods that come with the iphones dont work for me and wont stay in my ear and hurt them (a little too big) But for some ungodly reason the airpods fit snug as a bug. Dont have problems with them falling out or even moving in my ears while walking or running!the default earpods fits perfect for me. assuming the airpods do the same, just ordered it lol hopefully i won't get dissapointed
LOL. i just bought mine and about to return it. cause of scratches right out of the boxI’m addicted to it. Lost mine, bought the others... but i just ordered another set because the convenience from the W1 chip is just... worth paying for.
Get a replacement!LOL. i just bought mine and about to return it. cause of scratches right out of the box

Highly doubt so - Apple has an incentive to sell the wireless charging cases. The next generation may simply be the wireless case.
Where did you get the foam covers?I got AirPods last week. Sound and fit is meh. I got the foam covers for them, sound is improved but fit is worse.
I love the convenience. I think Apple hit a homerun with the charging case and the overall ID, but why do they insist on the terrible earpod design? If these were the usual in-ear silicone tip type earbuds, I would gladly pay $200 for them. But the hard plastic just doesn't feel good, and if the feel isn't good, none of the other conveniences matter.
So I would say try them out, but imo they aren't worth it. I will be returning mine.
