Are HBO Series in HD? Bandwidth question

Could you watch the HBO shows you like through the new HBO app on the iPad while hooked up through ATV?

Well, the HBO app will only work if you've subscribed to HBO through your cable provider. And even then it apparently won't send video to the ATV, only audio.
