Which iPhone are you getting?

I'm thinking of getting the small one that is going to be announced on Monday for my daughter. She's been really careful with my hand-me-down iPhone 5s, but that thing won't hold a charge anymore. It has had other problems as well. Now that I'm using the Plus sized IPhones I can't really give the kids my hand-me down iPhones anymore. I don't know anyone under 15 who wants to carry around a cell phone that big.

You're very lucky to be getting both a new iPhone and an Apple Watch. My daughter likes my Apple Watch and would like one of her own but she would never really get a chance to wear it because it would spend most of the time in her gym bag during the day. Her school does not permit cell phones except during traveling between sporting events. She's just way too active in sports to wear one. Despite the Apple Watch having a variant named "Sport," it would not survive a typical day on my daughter's wrist.
I'm getting a 6s just like my friend haz
My school only allows phones during morning recess and waiting at the gate
So if I get it and get the Apple Watch I'll wear the Apple Watch to school but put the iPhone in my backpack and let it disconnect anyway.
P.s. But my school allows wearing Apple Watch der

Depending on how far away your backpack is, your watch should stay connected more often than you think.

What color iPhone and watch are you hoping to get? I like my rose gold but if they ever make a truly black iPhone again someday I would like to get that. My daughter hasn't made up her mind yet. She generally prefers the silver and white combination. It doesn't really matter that much to us, though, since we both use cases.

What's "der"? Does it mean "there"? I couldn't even get autocorrect to let me type that without some effort. The kids around here don't use too much text speak because we parents got together and set ground rules about that and do enforce them, but there are a lot of emojis flying back and forth, especially the poop emoji.

They're supposed to be in a group chat to work on a history project. I don't know what poop emojis have to do with Ancient Egypt but hey, as long as the project keeps humming along like it should I am not going to fuss. ;)

But don't be surprised if it's not for too much longer. An increasing number of schools are banning watches (especially during exams) because it's too much effort to discriminate between watches and smartwatches.

My daughter is home. I measured her wrist and it's about five inches in circumference. The sport band fit her just fine with the shorter band attachment and using the second hole from the end. So it should fit your wrist fine.

Lol are you really a ten year old girl? My daughter read this thread and laughed her butt off. She says no ten year olds talk or write like Cheezburger cats. At most her friends say s'up for what's up. Of course regional subcultures vary so I will take that into account.

Oh well for any small wristed forum members this is how the sport band fits fine on a slender 11 year old girl with 5" wrists. I can't guarantee anything about 4" wrists and under because my cat won't stand still for a fitting. ;)

I used my cybernetic eye. It's not the latest model but it's still pretty cool.

Definitely banned here at the primary school level.

Great
So what band did u voted in the poll i created it?
Sport band, since obviously I tested it on an actual kid and it worked fine.

It's probably the most practical option for most people anyway, since it is made of a good all around watch band material.

If I were to buy one for a ten year old, (and honestly I wouldn't as it would end up either lost, stolen or destroyed even in the nicest of schools among the nicest of kids), that would be the choice. In conjunction with the lighter sport watch body, it's a comfortable choice for people with slender wrists. I have the sport watch myself and did find it more comfortable than my stainless steel model.

I'd vote for the sport. My wrists are larger and I wear the M/Lg band option but it's really super comfortable. The modern buckle is what, like 3x more expensive than the sport, and the buckle itself is big and will hit a desk or computer keypad all the time. Some will definitely find that annoying. The sport pin is pretty minimal and from my personal experience holds on to the band well. I like that the band end tucks under and find it helps keep it more secure.

Ok, It's time to predict which band will win!
Which band will fit my little wrist? Predict which band will be the best for me!
I bet that no one voted for 2 Apple Watch bands, the Milanese loop and the classic buckle!
I heard the modern buckle haz less votes!
So predict which band will win!
And explain why the Milanese loop may be not a good choice for the Apple Watch I'm getting soon!

Did you know that today Apple announced new bands? Nylon ones. Go to their site and check them out. They fit a.minimum wrist size of 125 mm which works out to 4.9 inches.

Who voted for Milanese loop in the poll? Who did it?

I did it, because my 6 years old daughter can wear her Milanese loop in this way.

Her wrist is really small. If she can wear it, a normal adult should be no problem at all.
