Just got the 27" on Saturday. I LOVE this machine, but there's a big learning curve from always being a PC guy. So much for it being intuitive compared to a PC, but I still love it.

That's awesome, I still remember sophomore year in High School when I just got a mac, I had to get use to it but now I love it! Can't wait to get the 27 inch most likely, i'm going to the apple store tomorrow to compare sizes.

For about the first 2-3 days seriously though about 21.5 but 2 friends and some research later, don't know wtf I was thinking and by Jan hope to have a giant 27' porn box eerr iMac!

I can't see the 27" too viable for me when I have a 32" HDTV sitting right behind me :p

Besides, if I were to get a 27", I would get the quad core. I really can't justify the extra $500 cost with not much benefit (for me).

I'm getting the 27" i5, as I want to both pick it up at the Apple Store and provide some future-proofing to my purchase.

stever500, as for the PC -> Mac learning curve, at least it's not too painful :) I "came into the light" myself three years ago, and will never return to "Dark Side" again, except at work, where I don't have a choice. These forums are full of really helpful posters, so feel free to ask any questions you may have, resting assured that they won't bite your head off :)

HAHA I have that on my macbook now(that kind of stuff)! lol I may get mine by christmas or hold off until late December. 27 is the way to go I would say.

I'm darn happy w/my 24" :D

I won't be buying a new mac for years to come, but I wonder how I could fit the 27" in my car??? (i've had to take my 24" to the apple store multiple times for repairs :()

1st one to vote for undecided. i'm still waiting to see an actual model in my school store. they're just way toooooooo slow updating new products:(

I'll be picking up the 21.5" and running a dual display with the 22" monitor I have now. The 27 is just ridiculous.

i was playing with the 27" today at the apple store all i can say is wow. HD trailers looked awesome on it.

Bought 27 and 23 external MOnitor

I figured go big or go home. I am stoked I got the i7 as well.

Yes, I can't wait to get mine. I'll have it set up once my room is redone with a more modern look with my glass L desk and a clean set up now. lol I can't wait!

I have had the i7 on order from day one, I am very excited to receive it.
I hope it has no screen issues :)

Are you getting the 21.5" or 27" iMac?

I ordered the 27" w/ i7 & 8 gigs RAM... That should hold me for a while. This is going to be my first mac... Looking forward to something different! I figure within the next few months I'll find a way to connect a DVD/BR player and a cable signal, so it will be a great all-in-one product. Now if only that tablet (slate?) would come out...

Have a pre-order for the standard config 27" i5. Will upgrade the memory when prices come down on the 4GB chips and I'll bump it up to 16GB. 1TB will be plenty with 2TB of existing external storage and I'm migrating from a MBP with a 500GB HDD, so it's still a step up.

And if there turns out to be some compelling reason to move to a Core i7 or other Socket H chip... I can upgrade it later for cheap.

There is a solution available right now, if your devices are HDMI: Get a standard HDMI-to-DVI cable, which is available dirt cheap on places like monoprice. Then get the Atlona DVI-to-mDP and connect it to your iMac through Target Display Mode.

Something for a direct HDMI-to-mDP should be coming soon.
