The 27" is insanely large and drains a lot of power (especially with the optional quad core CPUs) for me.
That huge screen and those quad core CPUs will be completely underused if you don't run professional apps that need high resolution screens and are programmed to use several CPU cores.
Bigger is not always better.
In the other hand, the 21.5" offers a respectable resolution, decent performance and relatively low power consumption. It's a more efficient and balanced product, in my opinion.
