The 27" is insanely large and drains a lot of power (especially with the optional quad core CPUs) for me.
That huge screen and those quad core CPUs will be completely underused if you don't run professional apps that need high resolution screens and are programmed to use several CPU cores.
Bigger is not always better.

In the other hand, the 21.5" offers a respectable resolution, decent performance and relatively low power consumption. It's a more efficient and balanced product, in my opinion.

The low-end 21.5" offers tremendous value. Great display with good resolution, really fast processor, adequate graphics, and can take plenty of memory.

That's the one I'm gonna buy. It will be my first Mac. :)
 
I was in the apple store today! Saw the 27 inch and 21 inch! The 27 is huge! I like it a lot. I like the magic mouse too. 21.5 looked good too but the 27 just seems big enough for me. :D
