Upgraded from gen 1 12.9 iPP to the 2018 gen 3. What a fantastic machine. The speed increase is amazing. I get the daily newspaper as a PDF. The old one would sometimes stutter or show a blank page for a while till it caught up. On this one I can scroll through as fast as I can flip pages with no hiccups. I edited a small video recently. Scrolling back and forth with the play head was butter smooth. The screen is beautiful, completely uniform edge-to-edge. The sound is improved. It weighs less and is easier to hold. I don’t care for the USB-C connector, I’d rather have a lightning connector, but other than that this is fantastic.

Upgraded from iPad Pro 9.7”.
This iPad is a very nice machine, I like pretty much everything about it, the screen is beautiful. I hated Touch ID, Face ID is great. The screen size in a similar footprint is awesome. The new pencil is cool, where it should have been from the start imo.

I think the smart connector placement is useless and poorly placed. I liked the placement on the older models so you could use a keyboard and virtually any case at the same time. That said I’ve never used a keyboard with an iPad, so it’s irrelevant to me. I think they need to actually use that port for something interesting.
Last gripe is all the magnets, I work with metal so I find shavings and iron dust too often, but that’s definitely not going to be normal for others. Griffin, OtterBox and others need to hurry up and release their cases for this iPad.

Three days in after upgrading from a first generation 128 gig 12.9” iPad Pro. I have a 256 gig 12.9” and I’m very pleased with it. It’s handled everything i want it to do very welll. Now i just need new software so i can take advantage of all of this power, ha ha.

Upgraded from 9.7” Pro to the new 11”. The 9.7” was a fantastic device. The Pencil was what I was looking for after years of trying nearly every good stylus and platform on the market. It was difficult to justify upgrading as the 9.7” was still performing so well.

That said, the 11” is a huge improvement in so many ways. The screen size is the biggest thing. It now feels like a device I can do some work on where the 9.7 was always a bit cramped. Magazines and newspapers and documents are far more legible with less zooming. The equal bezels on all size make it feel modern and again, more like a work tool. Everything is smooth and fast and the device never even gets warm. The Pencil ergonomics are improved, the magnetic charging much more convenient, and ink flow is smoother than ever. The Keyboard Folio is much improved, much easier to use without the origami folding, and basically the same thickness as the old keyboard cover and ipad, but with no bump on the front and the bonus of a back cover for the same thickness.

Fast charging is also surprisingly useful. Battery life is so good on the iPad that I rarely thought much about charging, but charge times were really pitiful on 10-12W chargers. I can now put it on my new 36W charger for 1/2 an hour and easily top off a day or two’s use.

Great improvements all around.

So happy! Hadn’t had an iPad in years, after buying the original and an early mini. Always loved the idea of them, but then they just sat, unused. Decided to try the new IPP, and I’m still just blown away by how satisfying to use they are. (Yes, they. I got the 12.9 and the 11, to see which, if either, I’d actually use every day. I love them both and will probably keep them both.) I’m a marketer for a startup, so I have a wide range of tasks including photo and video editing, and I’ve barely had to use my MacBook at all. (Only thing I need it for is Instapage and Webflow, which don’t really work on iOS.)

Home run, as far as I’m concerned.

Love my 12.9, coming from a 2015 12.9

Same. New one is smaller, lighter, I like the changes to the ASK, and the machine is day and night fast different to my 2015. Extremely pleased. Mine is straight. I choose to worry about cancer instead ;)

Upgraded from the mini 2 so I’m elated with my iPad Pro 11”. Also had the iPad 3rd generation when Retina display first came out. So glad the the iPad Pro 2018 doesn’t over heat with hours of use.

I think I’m happy with my 12.9” cellular model.

Unfortunately, curiosity got the better of me and I just checked to see if it’s bent.

Low and behold, it’s bent! It’s bent on the two shorter sides where the sides are interrupted by the dark gray antenna lines. This appears to be a common area for the bend.

I’m still happy with its abilities, but acknowledge that there probably is some kind of design or manufacturing issue that affected mine.

I’m really enjoying using my 11 inch iPad Pro. Like others I wish the apps would get updated and I wish I could find a working screen protector.

Other than that I’m coming from a MacBook Pro and so far it’s been an good transition. I feel like I’m in the minority as I’m using it for office work. No pencil lots of docs and spreadsheets. It’s a change but doable.

The grass is always greener. Need to live within expectations. It is what it is. Next version is sheet of plastic you draw on. It’s bendable

I mean it's the best tablet on the market right now, not even close. Sadly the price is a bit too high, that I would pay for a tablet.

I love mine. Definitely the best computer I've owned. I use it daily as my primary machine and throw it in and out of my backpack every day. No durability issues and everything has been as described. My only gripe so far has been with the lack of app updates, but I am really liking the new aspect ratio so I am fine waiting. Media is much better than my 10.5 also.

100% happy. I upgraded from the 2015 12.9 iPad Pro +ceullar (128gb) to the 256gb +cellular. Although I work in a primarily Windows world, iPad is my go to device for Exchange Mail (mail.app), notes (Notability) and annotating PDFs. I also use Chrome to access client data sites, Youtube & Spotify for enertainment and Instagram & twitter for social media.

Other daily apps I use are Evernote, Dropbox and AwesomeCalendar (Yunasoft).

2nd gen Apple Pencil and 1st gen Apple Wireless Keyboard are my go to accessories.

lots of unhappy threads

So its poll time

Feel free to post a comment too

I will say yes.... I got the new 12.9" Pro in 256gb.

I was using my original iPad Air (2013) that I traded in for this one...... never really saw a need to upgrade before since I only use it for basic stuff when I don't feel like getting on my computer.

I am still adjusting to the HUGE increase in form factor.... I have had moments where I felt like maybe I should downgrade it to the 11", but I wanted the big-boy.

Everything else feels nice and clean though. I had the iPhone X last year and have the XS Max now.... so my old iPad Air was really feeling ancient.

The new iPads does nothing more for me than the first iPads in terms of real work capabilities. I dont get it after what 8 years? And we are seeing superior products at lower price (Hello surface).

I really like mine I went with a 12.9 so I really love the size reduction and I'm also excited about pro motion and true tone they actually make a really nice improvement. Everything power wise is probably overkill but I am excited about photoshop and editing using touch and I already use some music apps and they seem really great and powerful for what I would need. I'm also really enjoying the accessories I feel like they really nailed them this time I really like how easy it is to take the 12.9 out of the keyboard folio if I want to use it as a tablet and the pencil charging is so much better. The usb C charging is already great just swapping the same cable for my MBP and iPad is really convenient for me.

Got the new 12.9 with a folio identical to Apple's and it looks like the screen is lightly floating above the surface its sitting on. Truly immersive experience
