Wireless charging isn't truly wireless, when I think wireless I think I am not tethered to a single point.

Current wireless charging you are tethered to a single point, you can't hold the phone, the voltage in current wireless charging is dog slow.

It's enough to make you wonder, why don't you just plug it in?

Once it becomes a feature for the iPhone, you will love it.

I charge my Nexus 7 wirelessly and I absolutely love it. It's perfect for when I'm falling asleep and don't want to fumble around trying to find the end of the Micro USB cable.

I am holding out apple is working on true wireless charging similar to how wi-fi works, but with electricity.

i think apple knows this current wireless charging isn't very useful or they would of put it in an iPhone by now.

It's pretty obvious you are holding out for what Apple comes out with.

Wireless charging has been so incredibly useful to me I'm not actually sure I could use my current device without it. I really can't remember the last time I plugged my phone in to charge.

I actually prefer replaceable batteries as it is really a game changer to be able to charge your battery separately from your phone. Next best thing is wireless charging.

However both technologies, when taken advantage of, have the ability to change the way use your phone.

Can I ask you why? The removable battery I can understand but what real benefit does wireless charging in its current form offer over plugging in the phone?

Plugging and unplugging a phone from a cable doesn't just happen, it is something you have to think about it. With wireless charging the phone gets charged when I set my phone down and without me thinking about it. I just put it in the same places I have always placed my phone and it just happens.

How many times a day do you plug your phone in to charge? I may take my phone on and off a wireless charger 30+ times in a workday...

Wireless charging basically has removed something I have to think about which is charging my phone. It may not benefit everyone but those that have a regular spot for their phone can benefit from it and I have yet to meet anyone with a capable device who prefers plugging their phone in when presented with both options.

Why would anyone be against it as long as there's still a port to charge via cable. I just wish it worked with cases.

Works with cases just fine. I have several types of cases and they all work with all of my Qi wireless chargers.

Convenience. Saves wear and tear of the male and female ends of the plug. Yanking a cord out by accident doesn't happen with wireless charging.

Absolutely love wireless charging. I didn't think I'd care about it when I bought my N5 but it's probably the most useful feature of it.

I have a charger on my desk at work, whenever I'm not using my phone it's charging. And that's it. Such a great solution to an annoying problem.

At home I'm working on hollowing out the bottom of an Ikea bedside table and putting a charger in there. Almost done.

I like wireless charging. Don't have to worry about wearing out a connector when charging my stuff.

Until you use wireless charging, you think plugging in is just fine. Once you have wireless charging, having to plug in all the time sucks.

This.

It's like anything else. Until you have had it and used it, you have no clue what you're missing.

I had wireless on my Palm Pre and the word I always used for it was "luxurious". Especially with its slanted Touchstone base with magnetic orientation, automatic flip to speakerphone mode, and that wonderful pulsating multi-colored notification light.

My son-in-law had Touchstones at home, in his car, and on his desk at work.

Those that have phones who does allow wireless charging or will be are you in favour of wireless charging or have it?

I like the idea of wireless charging, but it has to be in a way that allows you to just place your device (be it phone, wireless bluetooth-headset or smartwatch) on a flat surface.

If you really have to line things up - the charging thingy on the Apple Watch being a good example - you might as well just plug it in.

I don't think wireless charging will really take off until certain standards that several different manufacturers can agree on are introduced. Ideally I would like one 'charging pad' in my home that charges all my devices without me having to think about anything else than placing the device on it.

I have a wireless charger for my phone..thought it was an awesome feature when I got it 2 years ago. After a while I just stopped using it...the phone was so hot I didn't know if it was hurting it or close to it. It didn't charge any quicker, and was only mildly more convenient than being plugged in so the honeymoon was over quickly for me and Qi.

I think it's most useful when you have it where you need to be unplugged the most...so for someone at work or in a car (where you can wirelessly charge anyway)...but at home when it's sitting right next to me...meh, no difference being plugged in or laying on top of the charger.

I like it, but it's no deal breaker for me one way or the other.

What I would love to have is more of a "proximity charging" thing, where you wouldn't have to actually place the device on a mat. Imagine being able to simply lay the phone next to your laptop and it would charge, for instance. From what I read, this may be coming up quite soon.
