Seems like Apple reduced MSRP on 1TB models so with refurb discount on top, these are looking quite good. :D
Yup. I'd hope for lowered pricing on the 2019 iPad Pro models too. I hope that's not asking too much. ;) Perhaps they'll have lowered pricing on the 1 TB model (like the new lowered retail pricing on the 2018 1 TB), and a 128 GB entry level model at a similar price as the 2018 64 GB. If so, that'd be OK... esp. if all got at least 6 GB.

Historically, the period between EEC registration and product launch has never been more than 6 months. For example, the iPhone 11 models were registered in May. The iPad models were registered in July.

For me, the strongest evidence for Fall 2019 comes from 1) iPadOS, 2) Mark Gurman, and 3) Photoshop for iPad launching in 2019.

So far, the evidence for Spring 2020 is pretty weak, IMO.
Your info seems to be point to Jan. 2020 then, although in an ideal world for Apple, it'd launch before the Xmas shopping season, and before the new Chinese tariffs hit (Dec. 15).

So, a good launch date would be end of October, with inventory available 1-2 weeks later, in early to mid-November.

I think that's around when the first iPad Pro was released, too. :D
Yup.

12.9 1st gen
Announced 2015-09-09
Released 2015-11-11

9.7 1st gen
Announced 2016-03-21
Released 2016-03-31

2nd gen
Announced 2017-06-05
Released 2017-06-13

3rd gen
Announced 2018-10-30
Released 2018-11-07

So, my new guesstimate is that for 4th gen:
Announced 2018-10-29 (assuming it's announced at all)
Released 2018-11-08

Invitations to the October event to go out mid October. :)

Apple has also cut prices on their most expensive iPad Pro by $200 - the question is why....? ;)

Seem likely that they’re trying to push as many 2018’s as possible before the new one launches and completely devalues buying a 2018 iPad Pro....as everyone BESIDE the OP has been speculating.

I'm not reading anything into the price cut on 1TB devices, though I'm glad to see it. They did something similar a couple months back with their Mac line.

iPad Pro and MacBook Pro 16 have been rumored for October.....not the annual September iPhone event....you know the one for iPhones...that they do every year....for the past decade....
The iPhone event has only been in September since the iPhone 5 release in 2012. The 4S was in October before that. And previous iPhone events were in the summer. Sorry to say, but 7 years is not a decade. Furthermore after 2013, October events were every two years in 2014, 2016, and 2018. So there is a chance that there may not be an October event until 2020.

And as far as rumors go, well... we saw what happened with the 'one more thing' and Tile tag competitor rumors for this September event.

Well, it should be noted that the new iPhones do include Ultra Wide Band, so there still is a good chance that Apple tiles might come at some point.

Those refurb prices are higher than Amazon's every day price in the US.
Mostly not true:

Apple Refurb:
$679 - 64 GB WiFi
$809 - 256 GB WiFi
$979 - 512 GB WiFi
$1149 - 1 TB WiFi
$939 - 256 GB WiFi + Cellular
$1279 - 1 TB WiFi + Cellular

Amazon.com:
$674 - 64 GB WiFi (Space Gray)
$749 - 64 GB WiFi (Silver)
$899 - 256 GB WiFi
$999 - 512 GB WiFi
$1149 - 1 TB WiFi (Silver)
$1399 - 1 TB WiFi (Space Gray)
$999 - 256 GB WiFi + Cellular (Space Gray)
$1021 - 256 GB WiFi + Cellular (Silver)
$1549 - 1 TB WiFi + Cellular (Silver)
$1584 - 1 TB WiFi + Cellular (Space Gray)

The only one that's currently cheaper at Amazon is specifically the 64 GB WiFi Space Gray. The price is the same for the 1 TB WiFi Silver, and all the other ones that Apple is selling right now are currently more expensive at Amazon.

Amazon has been cheaper in the past, but we don't have that time machine handy.

Check out the 12.9" prices. Not all the discounts are great, but right now they're doing $250 off the 64Gb LTE silver model ($899) and the 64Gb silver Wifi is $849. Also, both Silver and SG WiFi 1Tb are sitting at $1349, which is $400 off.

Ultra Wide Band has huge implications for new products. They’re obviously either not ready quite yet or something more is coming in a second keynote. The fact that the new chip is on the marketing page tells me that something more is coming.

Last time i checked, we still have the whole month of October to announce them, and November to launch them! Now..THAT SAID...if we go into November with no new announcement then odds are we wont see anything till march, which personally i am fine with, i just wish i knew for sure ahead of time because i am without an ipad at the moment, i want a pro but they bend, so i am thinking on settling for an Air for desk work, and a Mini for field work and then come march or when ever the new pros are out, trade in the Air and go all out on a pro.

I just wish apple would let us in the market for an ipad know something (not an offical anouncment but say hey its best u hold off for a certain amount of time) so i can make a more informed decision.

Because i hate to break it to apple...i am not a rich man, nor can i just afford to go into an apple store and drop over a grand on a ipad pro, willy nilly.

a heads up would be nice is all im saying!

This thread is here, to man or woman up. Who honestly expected a New IPad Pro in 2019 ? And Why ?

Also I’ll go on Record And share now there won’t be a new iPad Pro until November 2020.

This is one reason I don’t pay attention to predictions, rumors, guessing, or the “what’s on your wish list” on this or any forum. No one really knows, so I’ll just wait until the day it is announced.

Considering the path iPad OS takes, sidecar function especially wacom replacement possibilities, iPP fits better in an event for MP, MBP 16 etc rather than the iPhone event. Such a Pro focused event could just as well come in October as in March.

Why they call an iPhone a "pro" is beyond me (and Phil: he said "for pros and everyone else" many times). Probably just to have consistant naming in the lineup.

iPhone Pro display tech on an iPad sounds intersting. Apple while you are at it, make a 15.4 inch iPP for us who like to work on the iPad.

Per my calendar, 2019 is far from over and last year's pro was announced in October so I'm not even sure why this thread exists let alone why it's titled as is. As of right now, no one knows if a pro will be released in 2019. I think Spring of 2020 to be more likely, but who knows?
Because this w ank er wants to sound important and smart af. I would understand this thread at the beginning of december but not even a week after september event? Geez
I think either October or more likely spring. But who knows :)

I'm not doubting that. I'm just saying the rumors said we'd see these things at the event and we didn't. Rumors are just that, rumors. Too many people here take them for gospel.
