So, finally had time to install this card.
My results are not different from what is already known, though.

I can, however, confirm that the SATA ports do not support PM! Pity.

Still, 20 quid for 2 additional SATA ports and two USB ports is not a bad value.

I have 2009 mac pro quad and picked this card up today and to my surprise it works great. I installed it with the LaCie hacked drivers and both USB 3.0 and Sata ports are working fine. The USB 3.0 ports are not port multipliers and don't work with USB 3.0 hubs. (I tried 2 different types) However, I have a Zalman ZM-MH200 U3 that houses 2 drives and even supports raid0 or raid1 and both drives are mounted and working fine via USB3.0.

I currently have two SSD's in the lower optical bay using both optical bay sata ports.... so I really needed an extra sata port for my blu-ray dirve. I'm now using one sata port for my Blu-ray drive and haven't tested any SSD's with it yet. A previous post mentioned it is bootable and SSD's work on the sata 6g internal ports... I have a couple of C300 SSD's that I would like to try in raid0 and see what speeds I get?

Hi mate,

Could you please give us a link or something to that Lacie hacked driver?

Thanks in advance : ]

hi there,
I just installed the asus card in a mac pro 2x2.8ghz Quad Xeon.

Those of you, who have this card running:
What does it show up as under >>PCI cards and under >>Serial-ATA in SYSTEM PROFILER?

I do get two "Unknown AHCI Standard Controller" under >>serial-ATA and one AHCI Controller with 5 PCI-Bridges and a linkspeed of 5.oGT/s under >>PCI cards.

I placed the ASUS card in one of the x4 slots as recommended in the installation guide. Did you place it in another slot?

I would buy the ASUS U3S6 to have SATA3 + USB 3.0 on my Mac Pro (Early 2009). But I need to know before purchase:

- Is it compatible with Mountain Lion?
- And very important, I can boot OS X on an SSD in SATA3?

Thanks in advance.

Personally i stoped using the card.
With the hacked drivers i had problems with my usb camera (logitech pro 9000 pc camera) sound and with usb generally at some point of time. I do not recoment to use the hacked drivers.
I propose to buy a usb3/ sata6 card with natural support on mountain lion / mac osx.
In my tests i couldnt boot my intel ssd from the sata6 card with the hacked drivers. (Strange!).

Thanks vbob for your reply! But I have a external LaCie Porsche P9230 USB 3.0. I think it would have no problem because I will not have to hack the driver.

Has anyone tried this ASUS PCIe with LaCie USB 3.0 disks?

Do they work properly with the original driver?

Thanks in advane.

Welcome.
The "hacked drivers" are the lacie one (hacked).

It would be interesting if someone do confirm that the "original" drivers from lacie work, though.

G5 Dual (2005)

Anyone attempted to use the card on a G5 Dual (2005) which is native Sata Rev 1 but recognizes Sata 2 drives the G5 has 4x slots - figured it might work ?
