still crap argument. iPod touch can not text from everywhere nor receive text messaging. Nor can it receive calls everywhere.
Also this thing is not about the iPhone but all smart phones so still crap.

Lastly no where did I reference wifi in my original nor next argument. I was talking about texting and using a phone.

So thank you for failing. Please come again.

ummm... I have better things to do, thanks.

i have two iphones, 2g & 3g on a family plan w/ no data. got the iphones used and i'm out of contract but still with att. i LOVE the lower cost of the monthly bill, especially while everything else(cost of living) risen/rising.

i love my iphone and so does the wife. it's a phone, ipod, camera(video w/ cyorder), media player, mobile gaming device all in ONE package. i have constant access to the internet home and at work, and that's the two only place i'd ever need it. i cannot justify the extra $50 on top of the voice plan, my life just doesn't require it.

Right, my father-in-law is 85 years old and a flip-phone style keyboard is just too much of a hassle (pressing one key 3 times to get your letter). They also like the touch screens available on smartphones and better (easier) menu systems. Neither have any use for the internet on their phones. Are there actually any phones that do this that are not "smartphones"? I have to take a look. Our contract is up later this year.

i got my inlaws some cheapo samsung flip phones last month. when i was at the AT&T store i think everything with a keyboard was considered a smartphone or had internet capability. even the cheapo samsung a237 have internet capability
