Does it run in landscape... thats all i wanna know.

Got it - nope no landscape. Other than that (which isn't an issue for me as my in-car holder doesn't rotate) it seems pretty good. The voice is a bit muddy and it takes 30-60 sec to acquire the GPS, but other than that it's ok.

LOL! and no landscape... What a piece of crap!

Just downloaded it, trying for a month as well, or until TomTom comes out with theirs and we'll see the differences. So far pretty smooth interface, the activation process was very smooth and simple.

edit - just realized it doesn't sync with addresses in your phone book. laaaaame

Like I said - for me, landscape isn't an issue. I need an "on-demand" navigation system that works. I don't think that not having landscape mode instantly renders this "a piece of crap."

Also - it looks like the "muddiness" with the voice was just because I had the 3G S volume too high. It sounds fine (actually quite good) through my car's stereo system.

I think it does. How hard is it to impliment landscape mode. It just shows me how much effort they didn't put in the app. Also, it won't import contacts from address book and no lane guidiance, it is crap at that high price.

i'm going to give this some real world testing right now. i'll report back with results soon!

mind you i'm using a 3g, so no compass and not as fast. we'll see how it runs!

Is the $9.99 per month for all phones on your plan or is it per phone?

I wonder if Telenav will come out with their own app now, and I wonder if they will use in-app purchases, at least that way my entire familty can use it on their iphones for the one price.

I used it yeserday from Oklahoma City to Dallas. Nice app. Gave me a congestion alert a good 8 miles prior. I don't like the fact that it streams the maps instead of having a preloaded map set. Not a problem when u have 3g service, but I am afraid of missing calls when on edge (frequent on the highway).

I asked this in another thread, but just in case:

Does anyone know if you can trial the app before you pay 9.99? And I understand on other Navigator phones there is a 2.99 day-pass. Is that available for the iPhone version?

I called AT&T the day Navigator for the iPhone was released and they told me it was not part of the 30 day trial. However; the following link sure implies the iPhone is included:

You could always call AT&T and ask...

I like it so far, about 1 hour of usage in a 3G area. However, I am not cool with the monthly fee... but what can you do.

My question is, can I install this on another iPhone that is on my family plan and have it NOT cost another 9.99? Is the 9.99 per device? Or per account? So, with that asked, if I was to try Gokivo and do the in-app upgrade of 9.99 per month and then installed on another device, would I incur a second in-app purchase?

Any thoughts?

Does it activate when you download it or do you have to call or go on the website?

I know how you deactivate it...

For those that state this app is made by AT&T you are mistaken...This is used by a company called Telenav and AT&T is not the only carrier uses them as Sprint does too. I have not used the iPhone version yet but I have used this in all my other phones and it works great. I don't mind paying the extra $10 a month and if I had to spend $100+ like other GPS apps then I would just use a dedicated GPS device. AT&T charges this monthly rate because this is a subscribtion based app which they also pay for since it's a service provided by telenav. For those of you misinformed I suggest you head to the telenav website to read more about this company.
