So will I be able to go to the store buy it and leave like the first iphone? I don't want a 2 year contract. Then hope the Dev team comes around the corner ;)

I too went to the ATT store and they too told me to go home and now that I am trying it just says accessing itunes store.... it says "We could not complete your itunes store requests. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again." so i have to keep plugging it back in, anyone else having this problem? My internet works just fine as does the normal itunes store...

This is the message I am getting:

We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection timed out.

Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again.

Of course I can access the iTunes Store and download all the music I want.

Well I've read up through all the posts in this thread and I was having the problem that the two I quoted here had when I was trying to activate my iPhone before I got to work at 3pm. I'm still at work and it seems that a little after 3pm several people start posting saying that their iPhone had been activated through iTunes. Just my luck ;]. I'll just have to see what happens when I get home at 9pm ;[
