I've noticed the AT&T TV app for Apple TV seems a lot more glitchy since recent updates were released. Navigation through the Guide, Watch Now, and My Library is really jittery, a strange combination of both under- and over-sensitive movement when being navigated with the touchscreen on both the Siri remote and the Remote app on my iPhone. Channel navigation seems a bit quicker to respond, but sometimes it'll scroll past multiple channels with a single gesture. And sometimes I'll be navigating through My Library, and all of a sudden I'll be in the Guide without any idea how I got there.

Am I the only person experiencing these issues? Or was this just a really under-QA'd release?

I’m experiencing the same thing. It’s aweful! The prior version was much better. This version is almost unusable.

This update sucks! Its completely lagging! They should’ve left good enough alone. They ruined it! The app works better on my Samsung and Roku now... that shouldn’t be.

Same problems here. Funny because AT&T seemed to finally have all the bugs worked out with the ATV interface. With this new update, they've created what seems like a whole new set of bugs. Most frustrating. And as the OP states, don't hold your breath for AT&T to fix these problems.

The audio has clearly also taken a hit as well.... I have to turn my sound bar waaaaay higher now. Then, when I put it on Netflix or a different app the sound is blasting. Ridiculous.

Just came on here to post this very thing. Thought it was the whole AppleTV interface but now that you mention it, yes it is from the AT&T TV app which is what I’m using 95% of the time. It’s brutal.

Try force closing the AT&T TV app and restarting the AppleTV. I did that earlier to remedy a default audio stereo pair HomePod issue and thinking back, that may have helped fix this too.

Yes, you’re definitely right about the audio too. Even with a HomePod stereo pair set up as default audio output, I’m having to turn them up in the AT&T TV app.

I suspect it's all in AT&T's hands. Which means we shouldn't hold our breath for a solution.
Absolutely. Especially since AT&T just sold off their TV division (including streaming) at a big loss. They won't be putting money into updates. Best you can hope is that the new owners will do so, but who knows when that will happen. Personally I've switched away from AT&T and went to SlingTV. Much better experience all around.

I would switch but AT&T TV is the only streaming service that has all the MSG Network channels and the NHL Network. Unfortunately, they have me by the balls 😞 lol.

I am in the EXACT same situation. Though a friend of mine who's also an NYC hockey fan recently subscribed to Fubo, and he said they have MSG and NHL. I need to find out if it has the MSG-2 networks, as AT&T just recently got those, and that was preferable to casting the MSG Go app from my iPad to the Apple TV.

what is ATT TV? s bunch of non-stop stupid ads about idiots wanting 5G?
It's a live TV streaming and DVR app that was originally built on the DirecTV platform, absorbed by AT&T, and inflicted on Apple TV customers. It started out as an inexpensive alternative for cable cutters, but having been co-opted by a cable provider, it's just another overpriced Cable TV experience without the cable.

I was so excited to see when AT&T TV got the rest of the MSG networks. I wasn’t a fan of casting from my phone to the AppeTV either. I actually submitted this request to them a few months back and wonder if that pushed them over the fence lol. I subscribe to the highest tier package with all the movie channels (minus the Spanish package) because my wife has channel requirements too. It’s damn expensive but other than the AT&T TV app recently becoming laggy and buggy, I’m happy with it.

FUBO was on my Radar when I was shopping streaming services about a year ago. Back then they did not have the NHL Network but did have all the MSG’s. (I’m like 99.99% sure they have all the MSG channels). Wonder if that’s changed now but I think it was still missing some channels my wife needed.

I've been with AT&T TV since it was DirecTV Now, so I've been through some pretty rough spots, especially in the early days of the DVR (which is still kinda glitchy, and it sucks that you can't use the Siri remote to FF by saying "jump forward 3 minutes" like you can with other video). The upside is that I've only been paying $60/month for the top tier package, which includes HBO. It goes up to $70 in April, and that's only a few dollars less than Fubo. The only thing that sucks is that AT&T TV doesn't count against my cellular data plan. That really came in handy a month ago when we had a Spectrum outage that lasted a week and I burned through my tethering for work.

That said, if AT&T can't get its crap together and have a usable UI on Apple TV, I may just bite the bullet and check out a different service. But I have non-hockey needs, and it's hard to find the right package that meets all of them without paying for everything.

Don't forget, AT&T tv will start counting against your data plan now. One less feature. But i'm still staying because at $70 no one else has a package that comes close.

This is what I’m talking about, with the package I have. Plus added Starz West, EPIX and Movies Extra. More than I was paying with cable but Verizon Fios came in pixelated a lot and it drove me crazy.

Holy crap! That's a monstrous monthly tab. Unfortunately, Fubo doesn't have HBO or Cinemax, though it does have Starz, EPIX, and Showtime in its $80/month plan. You might be able to pick up HBO Max, but that doesn't offer live programming. Fubo's lack of Turner Classic Movies might be a deal-breaker for me, though I have confirmed they have the MSG-2 networks, NHL Network, and Tennis Network, as well as SNY, NBCSN, and the ESPN channels for when hockey leaves NBC (bye, Pierre!).

The TV steaming category is so scattered it’s nuts. This service has this this and this but not that, but this one has that and this blah blah blah lol. Annoying. I gave in and took this AT&T package. The headache caused by shopping for the perfect service was worse than just paying this bill lol.

I have it on a Roku, too, and the Apple TV version definitely is slower and buggier as of a week or two ago. But I'll stick with it because I'm grandfathered into Go Big with HBO Max for $30/month.
