I literally bought the new Apple TV to hope it fixed it. Still terrible
I had the opposite reaction. Updating from the Apple TV 4, the AT&T TV app no longer lags. Now, it starts right away, and channels load in moments instead of seconds. With the new remote, it's much easier to navigate the UI (clicking the outer ring).

The Cloud DVR is still a little glitchy; when using the touch surface to pause during playback, it doesn't always activate scrubbing; you have to press the play/pause button and then go to the touch surface, and then scrubbing doesn't respond the way it does in Movies, where clockwise advances and counterclockwise rewinds. There's an arbitrary point where scrubbing will switch from ff to rewind, which is frustrating.

Can you use Siri to skip forward? Just something like "skip forward 4 minutes." I do this in YouTube TV all the time.
I tried this. Siri appears to accept the command, but it has no effect on the playback spot in the recording. So I use the pause and manually forward using the touchpad until it reaches where I think the commercial break ends. Sometimes I get it just right, other times I have to start over and tweak the time.

LOL, yet another rebranding, now DIRECTVstream!

Anyone notice how the last app update now manifests unusability in the other extreme?

Instead of a UI mired in molasses, the guide UI is now so fast, it's hard to use, even with the touchpad's sensitively at the lowest setting (long in effect to compensate for the Siri remote's shortcomings).

The previous version did a pretty good job of approximating the old, old versions that were good. But they couldn't let users go unpunished for long.

So I noticed a few weeks ago they updated the app so that you could now rewind and pause live TV. I didn’t actually use the feature till the other day, but I noticed that there’s now a preview pane when you rewind!
so how do we officially complain that we need to add this feature to the DVR for both fast forward and rewind? lol
