Hi Everyone!

I have 2 iPhones, one JB'd and one not. The one that isnt JB'd was able to update the carrier file with no problem in iTunes. The one that is JB'd gives me an iTunes Unknown Error0XE80000003D.

How can I get this JB'd iPhone on ATT 5.1 IPCC using iTunes?

Thanks

i did it the same way and itunes gives me that error....i dont understand why

i think i read somewhere that it could be from something that was installed within Cydia.....dont know how true that is....

is there a link somewhere on how to do this? i would like to try it on my jb 3.01 iphone

edit: nvm im blind

Well I don't know what else to do....still can't get this shift-restore in iTunes to update the carrier file.

I uninstalled all of the cydia apps except for the ones you need and it still won't update with the AT&T 5.1 ipcc

I get the error message also. I was able to put the 5.1 carrier on my wife's non-JB 3G on 3.1, but AT&T has not activated her account yet for MMS, so I can set up picture MMS, but it won't send.

I will keep trying her phone until MMS works on it, then I will get serious about figuring out what's causing the error on my 3G JB phone.

By that time, I hope to be on JB 3.1 (come on DevTeam)

same way you got on the non jb iphone.

mine is jb 3.0.1 3GS, hacked 5.1 carrier file works no problem. i did it to my gf's non-jb 3.0.1 3GS, worked the same way.

Does your iphone thats JB'd have INSTALLOUS installed or APPSYNC for OS 3.0?

Can you guys direct me towards where i could get the 5.1 carrier file to isntall with my 3.0 3gS JB. Thanks

I grabbed 5.1 from here

OP - I originally had same error as you and couldn't get the update to install. I think one of the tethering hacks I did a couple months back messed with my carrier file or something... idk. But I finally got 5.1 update to install after restoring 3.0 using saurik's 3GS downgrade method. My jailbroken iPhone 3GS is finally 100% back to the way it was before the restore and now MMS is working for me! :D

Thanks, great link.. hope i could get this to work or just wait!

one thing I had to do to get it to work was edit this into
Settings>General>Network>Cellular Data Network

APN: wap.cingular
Username: wap@cinulargprs.com
Password: CINGULAR1
MMSC: mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: 66.209.11.32:80
MMS Max Message Size: 614400
MMS UA Prof URL:

and then reboot. you should be golden!

I have to also give this link a THUMBS UP:D:D:D

For the first time since owning all 3 iPhones, I now have MMS. I followed the instructions to the letter for my iPhone 3GS, 3.01, iTunes 9, Windows XP. The only step missing in the windows method is to do restart after installing the .ipcc file. I followed the sequence from start to finish and voice mail still works as well. The first time I sent it did not go through, so I waited 5 min then tried sending again and it went through and this is on an Edge network as well.

I know it is only a few days away for AT&T to release the update but Apple may require a software upgrade which means I lose my jailbreak so wanted to try.

If you have any questions, I will do my best to help based on my recent experience.

Run the following command in terminal first, then iTunes should allow you to select the IPCC file

defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE

i assumed he already did the Terminal part because he said he was able to update the non jb iphone.

I've tried this over and over again on my JB 3GS. Keep getting an error message as well. I'm using iTunes 9 on Snow Leopard.

Did you do the terminal command, then hit return
Close Terminal
Open iTunes
Option key + Update key, select IPCC file
Then reboot (not respring)
Check settings

It really should work

Maybe it has something to do with what we have installed on the phone, because it works on my test 3g but my 3gs I get That same error? I figured out what possibly was my problem, I uninstalled IntelliScreen and the At&t carrier mod from bigboss, rebooted the 3gs and tried itunes and it worked....KNow no error messages and I have MMS working!!

I also removed the AT&T carrier mod and got it working today...this maybe something important! I use LockScreen and Weather 3D so that is our only difference.

Worked for me after uninstalling the Carrier mod (unfortunately...I liked the different logo). Anyway, the pictures won't go through, so I guess AT&T hasn't lifted the block off my account yet.

That is not entirely true. After I installed everything and attempted to send my first mms...I got the red asterisk. Five minutes later, I tried again and it went through. AT&T did not unblock my account in that mere 5 minutes. The asterisk means that the file did not transfer successfully, it has nothing to do with whether your account is blocked/unblocked.

I agree with that, to a point. I can see where it might take some time for phone and wap.cingular to handshake.

But when one continues to receive the red asterisk, likely the account has not been opted-out.
