I was considering a preorder on the 11” and got delivery dates into December. I didn’t do it. I’m still on the fence, so I figured I’d just give myself some more time.

I don’t remember att have online orders for cellular iPads ever being delivered on release day. It’s always been a few days later, st least as long as I’ve been ordering. And I know for certain that as long as they’ve had iPads available via Next, they were not available same day as Apple. For the release of the 10.5” it was a small wait as well.

My guess is cellular iPads are very niche compare to iPhones, so they don’t want to over order and be stuck with them.
RIP here's to hoping lol

I've always had good experience though, usually ships out quickly

Same here...want to see them in person first anyway. Maybe they will have them in the AT&T store on Wednesday.

I chatted with AT&T customer service today to see if I could tease out any details about my order and curiously he said that my order was scheduled for delivery 11/7-11/14.
No change in my order status so far.

Isn’t the earliest att delivery window 11/8 to 11/15?

Exactly but I don't think those dates are usually as definitive as Apple's when pre-ordering from them. I believe AT&T sort of pads it a bit because their process is so much more hands on and probably susceptible to delays. They don't even have the device on hand when you pre-order. It comes to them from China then they add it to our account and ship it.

Some
Of the dates are moving ignore you look at new orders so they must be counting their stock :)

If you've pre-ordered stuff from ATT before you know it's a total crapshoot with delivery info and updates. There are plenty of people who's iPhone orders would still say "In Progress" and the would be already be delivered and in their hands. They never got tracking info, etc. When ordering from ATT I've learned to just sit back and when it comes, it comes. Sign up for UPS My Choice or FedEx Delivery Manager. At least then when you have a tracking number the delivery services will notify you, even if ATT doesn't.

Exactly! My iPhone XS Max still shows Preparing to Ship on the AT&T site almost 2 months after I pre-ordered, and it was delivered on release day!

odd though ... all shipping dates for the 2 color variants moved back to nov 12 - 14 ... hopefully we see movement then soon ...

Yes, fortunately AT&T's order tracking is crap. I am Nov 23-30 for 1TB 11 SG, but the new order page shows Nov 14 - 21. So I think they are all moving up, Maybe not the 7th, but soon.

Some iPads (64 and 256 models) are delivering within 3-5 days, others are 5-10 days (512gb+). Source, I'm in the industry. Don't hold hopes for the 7th, looks to be earliest of couple days, maybe the 9th, unless your order specifies a 7th delivery. If it ships out today I wouldn't be surprised, but it would arrive by the 7th, that being said who knows, only time will tell.

That’s good to know. I was looking at the 11” 64.

Honestly though, I haven’t been able to decide if it’s worth it at this point. I had the first 2 generations of 12.9, and I sold the second one earlier this year to just hold out for something a little smaller. I just didn’t feel like I ever took my 12.9 anywhere because it was just a bit too big.

I bought the 2018 to tide me over, and I was thinking I’d really miss my ASK (I LOVED the keyboard), and the overall size of the iPP and things like that.

However, I have a great setup with my 2018 iPad, got an $11 keyboard and a nice stand that allows me to have it on my desk to use more like a computer, OR grab it and take it with me because it’s just so much more portable I can throw it in my purse.

I love some of the pro features, but just can’t decide if they’re truly worth it. I don’t want to see one in person though, because I KNOW I’ll want it. ;-p

11inch is good for portability, but 12.9 is fantastic for the rest.

I can only say that as of now 3-5 shipping is for most orders of 64gb and 256gb, but if more people pre order who knows.
If the items ships out by 5pm chances are you might get it tomorrow, if not, then expect a 3-5 business day delivery, or 5-10 for 512+

I'd expect the earliest delivery be 9th, but 8th may be possible if it ships out tonight

Can I ask when you got the email with shipping info for the iPhone? Just curious.

I was hoping to wake to shipping info today. I mean it has to be picked up by UPS and then sorted. That usually takes a day.

I didn’t see your reply before I edited my post, but yeah, I’ve had two 12.9”, and I did absolutely love the size for home; just not as portable for me.

Maybe I’ll hold off til after the first of the year, go for the 12.9, and just keep my 2018 for my traveling pad. IDK.

I'd love a Mini 5 Pro, but if there is a new Mini, it sounds like it won't be. Pro model.

I pre-ordered on the 14 and got the shipping notice (from both AT&T and FedEx) on the 20th for the 21st delivery. (On a side note, even though I didn't get the ship notice till the 20th, the FedEx email stated that it actually shipped on the 16th.)

My delivery estimate has always been Nov 9-16 but it says preparing to ship right now. Crossing fingers for delivery tomorrow but we'll see what happens. My keyboard cover from Apple is getting here tomorrow so it'd be nice to have a new iPad to put in it!
