I live in ATL and haven't traveled anywhere. I had 5 yesterday and up to 48 today on my second line. what the hell gives???

Wow, that's not good. I can't log in to ATT while at work. Anyone else in the US West Coast having these issues?

You should be able to check yours directly from your iPhone if you have the ATT My Wireless app. Under the data usage tab.

I'm up to 236 international roaming text.

I called when I was around 130 and the guy told me this was the first time he saw this happen. He looked it up and said most of them were coming from the other phone on my family plan. So apparently my girlfriend and my phone both think they are in different countries...haha.

A credit is going to be put on the account.

That sounds like $118 in additional charges. ;) I almost feel bad for AT&T knowing that they're going to get all these angry calls from customers when the bills go out. That is assuming most customers don't normally check the 2nd online usage screen and scroll down to the "Pay-Per-Use IM/Text." Hopefully they'll develop some sort of internal billing program that wipes out these charges prior to billing.

I'm at 5.... I don't have many friends

i'm in the oc. Can't wait to see the bills. Even if it shows up 5 cents Ill defiantly want my pennies back.

F*c& you att

Mine is 43 on one phone line and 514 on my iPhone line. Both phones have unlimited data/text/mms. So ya. That's 557 on one phone bill combined. Soooo do I just call Att's customer service line? It says it costs $0.50 for every one used. That's $278 in bullshat that isn't supposed to be on there. I PAY extra on each bill to know that I'm paying for unlimited everything to be safe. When I see such a huge number saying "pay per use" red flags just went up, being as we barely get by on bills as it is. So has Att been helpfull to everyone so far? I live in eastern WA state by the way.

Me Too

I have 69 that showed up. Im in Cincinnati/Dayton area so I know I am not picking up Canada Towers here.

I'm in Omaha, so there's no chance of getting any stray signal from an international tower here, and have 139 international roaming SMS messages that have shown up in the last 3 days. I called 611 a couple days ago and found out it's a known issue that just came up this week... also contacted AT&T via Facebook and they quickly replied to let me know they're pushing a fix today which should automatically remove the entries from all bills, saying "no further action is required on your part." My last billing cycle just rolled over on the 7th, though, so I'll be curious to see if any showed up on my statement when it becomes available.

I just got off the phone with @ATTJulie on twitter. She explained to me that AT&T knows about the problem, and it was unintentional and caught yesterday. Any incorrect overages should be taken care of by the billing cycle. If not, I can tweet her to get it taken care of.

What impressed me the most was that I tweeted @ATTNews with a question last night and got active communication back. AT&T's really stepping up their game with social networking and its customers. She asked me for my number and called me. I didn't have to call 611 and jump through hoops for an explanation or resolution.

would you think the roaming portion you can turn off and on, has anything to do with this issue? I know both my wife and I have none of the international ones listed, but we both slid the roaming portion to off in the iphone:)

just a thought that it may be leading to this issue?

This wasn't the issue. AT&T just messed something up internally. My Data roaming slider was turned off since the day I picked up my iphone. I called them and they said they already knew about the problem and were fixing it asap. It was widespread i guess.
