audio interfaces for mac pro - recording recommendations

Any opinions on Tascam? Seems to work pretty well for the two boards I've tried so far.

I'm happy with my MOTU 828 mkii. I also have a Mackie Spike for portability which I use a bit too.

I would think that pre's and convertors would be most important. You get what you pay for. I have an Ultralight mk3. Sound is a bit tiny and brittle. When I upgrade it'll be with one of these depending on funds.
