Might be too early to tell (I only watched 15 min of video) but I didn't any pauses during that time. I think turning off "Hey Siri" indeed a functioning workaround until we get beta 3.

I forgot to come back and reply to this. I turned it off and have been listening to overcast for an hour without any pauses. At the very least it has greatly reduced the incidence and looks like it may have prevented it.

This started with me on the public beta. I'll try turning off hey Siri for now and check back.

Happens to me with Spotify, on public Beta. Audio pauses at random times and always stops when opening the messages app

Anyone else experiencing a high degree of random audio pauses in iOS 10 Beta 2? The audio will be playing normally and then pause. Tne only way to fix it is to hit play again on the home screen controls or in the app. This happens with both my wired headphones and iPhone speaker.

Only started since I updated from Beta 1. Seems to only effect podcasts Apps like Downcast and Overcast. Used Spotify for a bit but didn't experience the problem. Restart of the phone doesn't help. Chime in if you have experienced this issue.

I had this happen to me while listening to a podcast yesterday

I can confirm that turning off hey Siri does fix the issue on this beta.

I noticed it does fix the issue with Podcasts. However, I am still noticing it on Downcast a little bit. Use that app more then email and phone; guess ill have to wait it out.

I did this too and it makes the pauses more infrequent, but they're still there. I still have my music in Apple Music pause inexplicably about once every ten or fifteen minutes. Same with podcasts (Downcast). But it does help.

Happening to me in every audio app except Apple's stock ones (Music, Podcasts). To be fair I had a similar issue in iOS 9 with Audible randomly pausing but that was the only one.

Turing off Hey Siri isn't a solution, since aren't we supposed to be testing how that works too? Letting Apple know that it fixes it might be useful but getting everyone to turn off Hey Siri which is also under test defeats the point surely?

It's really up to the individual to weigh the options isn't it? If someone listens to enough audio and doesn't care for Hey Siri then turning it off sure seems the sensible thing to do until the next beta, or whenever the issue is resolved.

For me, this occurs when I open the messages app, to fix this I just close the messages app and reopen it and it's fine. Doesn't happen to me otherwise.

Possibly, but I guess I was just making the point that the bold post above mine was a bit "do this and stop mentioning it" which I thought was the point of betas and community forums, but I was probably wrong :)

I'm only slightly worried by your "or whenever the issue is resolved" line. As long as it's before iOS 12 I guess we should think ourselves lucky :D

Ah. Understood. No, definitely not suggesting people should just forget it and move on. Just offering a suggestion for those with audio issues. Hopefully the next beta will resolve it! :)

Me too since Beta 2 but only with bluetooth for me (to my car audio).
Sometimes after 15 minutes but at other times within 30-90-240 seconds etc... irritating.
I saw on another site disabling the 'Hey Siri' option may help, will try tomorrow.

Seems like for me it pauses on songs not downloaded to iPhone, but that are on there from where I bought them, but once I hit the download button on it, it seems to work.

Happens to me in the iPad continually, and also have noticed crackling and hissing in the audio when it starts to happen. All my songs are apple lossless and synced to my iPad. I have never had this issue before

Did you disable Hey Siri? I did this and have not experienced it in the past week.
