I hope I will be able to get one ! lol I have a feeling my dear and trusted laptop (Roger) will die around the same time...

I would go either for the 16GB or 32GB model. I will be in NYC around that time (end of March I believe).

With any chance I will find a trick to activate a US iTunes account to get iBook working in Canada if it's still not available with Canadian accounts. That would be awesome.

When is Launch Day for the pads anyhow?

If it really is exactly 60 days from the announcement, I think the 28th of March?

Sometime around then.

And... and now that you mention it.. dear lord that seems like forever away.

I'm ordering online

Well since I'll go for the 3G version I'll have to wait an extra month but I'll order online. I'll definitely go to the store and play with them though. Plus, I figure if I wait a month, I can see if there are any 1st gen issues.

Part of the fun is going to the Apple store and standing (or sitting) in line for hours to wait for a new product! It's really cool: you chat up the people around you, there's an air of excitement and anticipation....an experience not to be missed!

Back in 2007 I got up on a particular morning in June and decided that, yes, I was going to go over to my local mall and wait in line to get this new "Jesus Phone," even though I still wasn't 100% convinced that I "needed" one. The next year I was in line to get the upgraded model. In 2009 I went over to the Apple store on Launch Day but didn't actually buy a 3GS until a few days later. With the iPad, I know myself well enough to realize that, yes, I'll be in line to buy one.....resistance is futile. After I have it I'll figure out just why I wanted and "needed" one........

Wal-mart carries the iPod and the iPhone, so it's probably a guarantee that they'll carry the iPad.

I think Apple Stores and AT&T storefronts will have them first, though.

I'm ordering as soon as I get the announcement of pre-order from Apple. If it's like the iPhone launches (1G & 3GS), it'll ship to arrive on release day. I'm pretty set on the 32GB (WiFi only) model.

Sorry....going to Wal*Mart to get an iPad on launch day just wouldn't be the same experience (or for that matter, going to Wal*Mart to get an iPad on ANY day)...... I'll stand in line at the Apple store but no way would I go anywhere near a Wal*Mart!

I agree, I'd go anywhere to get an iPad on launch day*.

*Excluding Wal-mart.

i have pretty good faith in thier preorder system. they usually have it before amazon or best buy. i also think alot of people are on the fence about the product so availablity should be good. i dont expect playstation 4 crowds or anything

I'm lucky enough to be an Authorized Reseller...so I'm crossing my fingers we'll be able to resell these. We've been told by our rep that we cannot accept pre-orders for them. I just wonder if Apple's going to treat them as a large iPod and not a computer? How will AppleCare work on these? Will we have to ship them to Apple? Or will people be able to bring them into Resellers for warranty work?

I guess we'll see. I have only seen videos, but I'm already sold. I'll be ordering mine as soon as I get that lil' email notification!

I'm getting a ride to my 1 1/2 hour away Apple Store the day they have them in stock. I'm calling up every day starting March 28th to find out! 64GB w/o 3G.

Also I have a question, if I were to order one online and the model I received was defective could I bring it into my local Apple Store to have it exchanged or would I have to ship it back to Apple and wait for a replacement? Thanks!

I had a better experience from pre-ordering my iphone 3gs than I did from waiting in line for the 3g. I did pre-order from att the last time. This time, I am going to pre-order from apple directly. I am interested in the 3g + 64gig.

Not sure I see AT&T having any of these on launch day. Why would they sell the Wifi only version? The 3g won't be out for 30 days after so I'm guessing AT&T would not sell the non 3g version. They don't sell any other product of Apples besides the iPhone and some accessories. Just a thought. Apple stores, Best Buy, Wal Mart is my best guess.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7D11 Safari/528.16)

Good thing for me is I would get the 3G version so I have an extra month to see how the reviews are and whether I want to actually but it.

That is exactly what I was going to post - a month of guinea pigs before I plunk down my money.

I'm definitely pre-ordering a 3G version as soon as the link goes live, so I'll be waiting for the UPS/Fedex guy :)
