Just because the end is open doesn't mean that end of the phone is unprotected in case of a fall.I have an Apple leather case that has an open end,if it were dropped on a FLAT surface no metal from the phone would come in contact with the floor. This might not be the case with the Spigen case.

No offense to the OP or anyone else who buys these thin type(s) of cases but come on. How can you expect any sort of drop protection from something that has very little to no cushion when the phone hits the ground?

I've never understood this.

From my experience with Spigen they are great. I've purchased four different screen protectors for my HTC One from them and have yet to be disappointed.

Avoid this Spigen case if you want drop protection!

Guys come on we buy the thin case to protect from scratches that's it. Anyone that thinks they are protecting iphone from damage due to falling are kidding themselves. True protection would be that bulky thing called the otter box. No thanks

Spigen makes a bunch of cases so pick one you like and don't make such a negative post because you found one case you don't like.

I ordered this one and love it on my iPhone 6. Offers a good balance of protection and slimness for me.

Here is a screen shot from Amazon if the link takes you to Amazon's home page:

Any chance you have a photo of the case on your phone? I was eyeing that one too, love the dimples.

Does anyone know if the Spigen Air Skin case will cause an issue with a screen protector? It looks in the pictures like it wraps onto the edge of the screen slightly.

Wow, I'm seeing a lot of failures by Spigen recently, with the iphone 6. I'm glad I bought my OctoArmor case... I haven't had any problems yet haha

I have the Spigen thin fit A for my iPhone plus together with a case friendly zagg glass screen protector. No issues at all.

I bought the Slim Armor and tried it out for day. Felt solid, but slippery and oddly thick.
I'm waiting to see what Incase does.

I hadn't realized that people buy cases that they don't expect to protect all sides from drops. I changed the title of the post.

Okay, so here is a lesson you can carry with you into other aspects of your life:

Sometimes people have different priorities, tastes, and opinions then you do. It doesn't make you wrong or them wrong, and it doesn't automatically make things that you don't like bad, or things that you do like perfect.

If people on these forums could absorb this concept, maybe we could have avoided all the "6 is better/6+ is better" posts last week.

Let's be real, phone could still crack and get damaged no matter what case. Unless you're using an otter box

I had a defender on my 5. I could never figure out what I did but the phone bent and the plastic part of the case cracked. Never knew it until I took my phone out of the case for a Genius Bar appt for the power button not working. The genius said "look this phone is bent. Good thing you're getting a replacement today"

I also bought a holster w/ belt clip that fit the phone pretty well with the Spigen case on it. I then made some modifications: shaved down the side / bottom clips the phone slid into so they did not wrap around to the front of the phone and drilled out holes for the power port & camera. It works great with my Spigen case now.

I don't like a phone flopping around in my front pocket so I put the phone in my front pocket but clip it to the top of the pocket. It is partially in / partially out of my front pocket but very secure with the belt clip fastened at the top of the pocket.

Here is the holster that the phone w/ the Spigen case slides into.

Exactly.

I actually prefer cases like this with the bottom open. I use the 30 pin to Lightning adapter in my car so I need the bottom to be open.

I buy AppleCare+ in case of drops. The case is just to prevent the back of the phone from getting scratched.

Same here. I actually just posted in another thread asking about a super thin case that would work with the 30-pin to Lightning adapter, since that's what I use in my car and kitchen. This will be perfect, thanks for the heads up, OP!

I hate cases in general, but the aluminum back and protruding camera worry me, so I'm looking purely for scratch protection. :)

I bought the OP mentioned case because it was the only cheap non-TPU case Amazon had in stock ready for Prime shipping. I used it over the weekend until my Ultra Hybrid came in. Didn't want to take any chances so "wasting" $12 wasn't an issue. This new case fits the bill exactly. Minimalist footprint that doesn't compromise looks or function.

Personally I don't like these cases. They tend to accumulate dirt between the case and the surface of the iPhone and the aluminium becomes scratched. This week I saw my colleague iPhone and it was completely damaged . Even my iPhone 4 after some time using a bumper became scratched in the aluminium bezel.

To use these kind of cases you must have a daily cleaning routine.

Pretty much ever case has to be taken off at some point and cleaned. There is really no way about it. The case I have is has a really tight fit so dirt and dust are going to have a hard time getting in. TPU cases on the other hand, are more flexible, thus the need to clean them more often. I don't mind removing the case once in a while to clean junk out if it means that my device will be protected from drops, etc.

I bought two cases from Spigen for my 6+ (still pending to be delivered)... But after so many issues I've read here, now I think I didn't do the best decision!

And just like others said...I think a case is to give some sort of protection, but we can't blame them for not being useful when dropping the iPhone. Lets not drop them!
