Back cover with magnetic strip!

hello everyone!

I currently have the i-blason back cover for my ipad 3rd gen, however, i would like to get one iwth a magnet strip on the back that holds the smart cover open.

I know of the belkin snap shield secure, the one from speck, and the one from incase.

what other options are there?
 
Minor quibble, but shouldn't you be looking for a back cover with a metal strip on the back rather than a magnet on the back. If its a magnet on the back you may have issues with it inadvertently turning your iPad on/off all the time. You just want a back metal strip that will let the magnet in the smart cover "stick" to that.
 
I'm also look for similar covers. The 3 you mentionned run for over $30. It sounds a bit steep when you have to fork $40 for a smartcover.

The Devicewear Bridgeway looks interesting. Much cheaper option.

If I could get a backcover with a metallic strip (similar to the 3 you mentionned) for about $20, I'd probably go for that along with the Apple smartcover

I did this with the Zum case for my iPad 2, and will be doing the same for when my iBlason case comes for the new iPad:

I was going to use the hole punch to make a 1" circle instead of the long strip (I'd experiment, but that's all I think I would need). Just to make it look nicer.

It's inside of the case, with the adhesive side on the case itself.

mind sharing where you got the sheet of metal? haha does it scratch the back of your ipad at all?

Just got my strip. It's working great. Threw it inside my macally case (just placed it in there, did not stick it on) and it is holding my smart over back just fine. And you can't see it because my macally case isn't clear. So now I can reuse as much as I like. Love it

1 works, but not as well as I like. I'll be using two.

I have a picture of the back with 1 circle, the smart cover attracting to the case with 1 circle, and my 2 circles.

Got my strips and trimmed them a bit, cut down the length and width a bit and rounded the edges a bit, works like a charm!

i always choose iPad accessories like this, open google,and then, type: iPad accessories brands. there will be the answers, many famous brands will be listed!

Does anyone know if the tape can be applied to the outside of the case? And would it still work with the smartcover? I'm just not sure about having the iPad rub against the the tape all the time with it being on the inside.

You can put it anywhere you like it....
I tried it on the outside 1st.. I didn't like the way it looked or felt so I put it on the inside.
