Thats bad service. I had an issue when I purchased 3 x Mitsubishi commercials vehicles. They were only doing 10MPG for a 2.8TD engine. I found out that the differentials were wrong. They said I would have to payfor the up grade. I said I would have graphics on the side of all 3 trucks saying "do not buy these trucks as they are rubbish, give crap fuel economy and back up service is awful" and drive them around the city if london. I even cut and pasted the word on a photo and e:mailed them what I would do if they did not pay the total costs.

Guess what the result was! :)

I know EXACTLY what you are going through.

My iMac was a pile of junk. The thing sounded like a 747 during take off. Apple engineer on the phone asked if I had the air conditioner running when I called..I told him it was the iMac, and he added that to my case notes.

After 2 power supplies, and 2 logic boards (all of which I had to repair myself!!), the screen went crazy, and wouldn't you know it - the 3rd logic board was fried.

By this time I had called Apple HUNDREDS of times demanding a new machine, compensation, it to be fixed, EVERYTHING. All they did was give me the run around and say "That's normal" or "We are looking into it."

In the 3 months that I owned it, I was only able to fully use it for a bout week. That's not what I paid $1500 for. Apple REFUSED to help me out in any way. I threatened with lawyers, the BBB, even told the local news station about my horrible expirience.

In the end, Apple didn't do squat about it and wouldn't even attempt to do so. My only solution was to sell it on eBay. I've heard no complaints from the buyer, so apparently he/she accepts that computers should make loud buzzing sounds.

Well, the machine got a new power supply and is working okay.

The repair guy said he checked the logic board and hard drive for damage, because in the last one where a power supply went bad, it would take both down with it.

I sent a formal complaint to the BBB last week, so I wonder where it will go.

Now, if so many people are having these problems with the iMacs, where is the recall, like the one for the iBooks a while back?
