Baldurs Gate (PC) on Mac?

Okay, so I tried to make sense of this thread and I'm really struggling!

I have recently got my hands on my original PC versions of BG1 and BG2 and I am trying to work out how to install them on to my Mac.

I tried it with wine but I just got a white screen followed by some Divx error.

Any help?

I not great at this stuff and so a dummies guide on how to install a Windows game onto my Mac via a CD would be amazing.

Wait - you are trying to install a 'requires Windows' game onto a system NOT running Windows? I think THAT is your problem.

Thats not a problem if you have the right software to do it...

You can port these yourself using Wineskin, or you can buy Crossover to go a bit simpler route... but BG1 and 2 both run fine with these methods, and you do not even need Windows.

Try googling for wineskin, I installed BG1 and 2 using this software without a problem, also the developer (doh123) frequents these forums which is handy

I know this is a couple months old, but I too had a hankering to play BG again and found a project that has ported all the BG games to both mac os x and iOS called gemrb. I started a thread about it here.

Its a bit difficult to set up (they are working on it as we speak) but once you set it up BG2 plays very very well. (I havent tried anything else)
