Are you trying to bring up the supposed Gates quote that "640K ought to be enough for anybody" ? A typical internet myth. It didn't happen quite that way.

What really happened was that Gates was giving a speech around 1993 or so, and was poking fun at himself...

He commented that back when the PC was redesigned in 1981 to go to 640K (at a time when most computer maxed out at 64K), he and others thought that that much memory should be enough for about another ten years.

He said it turned out they were too optimistic to think that 640K was going to be enough for that long a time. That comment was misquoted and became legend.

Guess I didn't do my research :'(

I got pwnt.

I'm not an apple fan boy by any means, but having owned 2 windows mobile phones and now an iphone 3gs I can say without bias that the iphone's internet capabilities blow my previous WM phones out of the water.

lol does he even know what the heck he's talking about?

I love the video on youtube of him talking about the original iphone in an interview and he's talks about how it's 500 dollars and doesn't appeal to the enterprise because it doesn't have a keyboard. STEVE! HAVE YOU HEARD OF THE UNLOCKED HTC TOUCH DIAMOND ????

We are listening to this man why...?...I would take everything he says with agrain of salt after this. What an ignorant statement coming from
such a quaified individual....

Heck, never trust anyone over thirty! Or under twenty-nine!

Especially CEOs ;)

Just look at Jobs, with his "and boy have we patented it" nonsense, or his demos of the "real internet" with faked content where Flash would normally be.

Plus Verizon's Seidenberg (who I like a lot as a charity speaker) is waffling about net neutrality, and AT&T's del la Vega is downplaying the iPhone's importance.

It's their jobs, man.

oh yeah trying to get a crowed riled (sp?) up for a keynote of some sort is definately crazy. /end sarcasm

fail

microsft might not have hit the head on the nail with their iphone remarks but that doesnt mean we should have an apple fanboy "bash the microsoft corporation" convention.

i honestly choose microsoft PC over a mac i just prefer the OS and UI.

Only reason I would get a mac is for GarageBand and iMovie.
my 32 cents

Uhh... he is right. Browsing the internet is much nicer on my MacBook Pro than on my iPhone. That is true for ANY smart phone though.
