I think I'm getting too wrapped up in the battery capacity issue. I need to turn off the indicator in the menu bar. I'm becoming obsessed. 
Actually, after calibrating the battery the other night and doing that SMC reset, I think the indicator is showing that my battery is in better shape.
But it moves around so much that it fools me a lot. I'll see it at 2 hours and think, "but it was just at 3 hours!". Then it will be at 3+ hours a couple of minutes later.
I really need to turn that off.
