Day one rMB 2015.
cycle count: 614
Health: 68%

Today my battery rounded 4 years.
First 2 years mainly on battery (ca 450 cycles). Last 2 years plugged in (ca 165 cycles).
Battery fluctuated a lot the first 2 years (down to 80%) but flattened out the last 2 years (down to 70%)
As long as it doesn't swell, I intend to keep it. The battery still lasts 3-5 hours (normal use, brightness 70%). When travelling I use a usb-c powerbank (with PD) which gives me another 5-6 hours.
Never had any trouble with this machine. Not even the keyboard. Very pleased.

Which usb c power bank do you use? In the market for one

I use a RAV-power usb-c: https://www.amazon.co.uk/PD-Power-B...55057478&s=gateway&sprefix=rav,aps,254&sr=8-9
It didn't come out as best in the test but I am very pleased with it. I use it to keep my rMB topped up to 100% and then it lasts me at least 5 hours (normal use, brightnes 70%).
It was relatively cheap at the time and came with an usb-c charger (and no cable!).
They have very good customer service. The usb-c port on mine became loose and they send me a new battery (no charger but with cable) without questions asked.

2017 MB. got it when first came out

500 cycles -- 85% life

guess I got a good unit. 1 year left before apple care expires so would like this to dip below 80% so that I can get a replacement and rock this thing 100% on battery for 3 more years

As odd as it seems, it appears that my battery health is improving.

2019-03-06 - 82% (max capacity 7186) (cycles 308)
2019-04-04 - 81% (max capacity 7090) (cycles 316)
2019-05-17 - 85% (max capacity 7463) (cycles 344)

Prior to April 4th, I ran almost exclusively on wall power, maybe once per week or less running my battery down. After April 4th (or maybe a bit later), I started primarily running on battery and charging when necessary. In other words I stopped paying attention to when on power or not. It seems to have helped my battery.

Late 2013 MBP 15"

1200 cycles, 62% max capacity

"Replace Soon" it says, and I will. Macbook is running great with Mojave (currently 10.14.1 beta) and well worth putting a new battery in it.

As an aside, I use an Applescript to give me the battery info: https://pastebin.com/9UnLWeWn
77 cycles, 95% max capacity.

It's expensive to get the battery replaced, but it comes with a "free" top case, so new keyboard and trackpad. Very happy with it all!

Perhaps anecdotal, but I think my battery has improved by a good measure by turning off iCloud Drive for iWork apps. I live inside Pages and Keynote a lot and they regularly upload changes by design, but since storing them locally, my battery feels like it’s lasting a lot longer.

[doublepost=1559310366][/doublepost]I also run my 2017 MB on battery all the time. I like your plan. Battery is holding up well (300 cycles) but I am nowhere near your count since I am using my IPad so much.

Amazingly, this MB has been absolutely great for me, even though lots of people said it was hopelessly underpowered. Admittedly, I main use Office, and browse the web.

My battery health continues to increase. The reversal of the decline in it's health started when I started randomly using it on battery with no regard to how much power remained in it. Prior to that, it was almost always on wall power.

Based on having the machine for 29 months prior to March of 2019, I calculated 10.6 cycles per month during the period before the records below.

This anecdotal evidence seems to imply that random and increased usage of the battery is better than remaining on wall power, and only periodically cycling.

Nice Arcade ! Haha

I just bought the MB 2017 because there is a huge discount in France during summer sales in one retailer (Fnac/Darty) and I got it for 899€ instead of 1499€.

I’m a bit surprised...it seems the battery doesn’t hold on that well. What’s more, MB already shows 3 cycle counts when I barely charged it once.

Are you experiencing that too ? Does your MB manage to reach the 10 hours as announced ?

I'm not experiencing nothing like that. Yesterday I unplugged the laptop from the charger at 7:00PM it is now 2:14AM and the battery is on 48%. I have been using it non stop tonight listening to music & surfing the web.

Thanks Arcade !

Look like my MB hold on better after a couple of days :)

I'm too used at the iPad Pro which is definitely a monster !

What is the battery design capacity for the 2017 model.
My 2015 model has 5297mAh as original max. Has it gone up for the 2017?
Thanks

Thanks but how do I have to understand this?
Did it have 56 cycles (at 5297mAh) out of the Open Box and after ca 2 years without use it had dropped to 4823mAh?
