Battery drain iOS 14.2 on iPhone 12 pro

Anyone else seeing more battery drain since upgrading to iOS 14.2 from 14.1? I downloaded it last night, and my phone has seemed to clicked right through battery. Not real happy. Maybe give it a couple of days, or were people seeing this in the betas?

Thanks! That’s kind of what I figured. Probably a bit of settling in. I have been pretty disappointed with iOS 14 over all. Love widgets, but it seems each update of iOS 14 brings out more issues. I was around in beta on my 11 pro, and the battery would take hit every time. Just not pleased.
 
I found my phone's battery life to be slightly better since morning, when I updated. Maybe I might have used it a little less. Time will tell.
 
iPhone 11 here. iPhone is performing terribly since i updated to 14.2. This update is the first one that has affected my battery life since iOS13.

Dang, I notice right away that mine was worse. Right after downloading, it started dropping. I was losing 3% chunks every 20% until it went to low power mode at 30%. I thought maybe the updating process caused it. Thought charging it up all night and starting fresh today would help. Seems to be slightly better, but still not what 14.1 was when the 12 was new. Never had this issue before with a brand new phone.

Betas are not known for stellar battery life. There is a lot of extra logging and reporting going on and not fully optimized code yet. That is normal. As for 14.2, I am finally seeing better battery life on iP XR with this release of 14.

Oh yeah I am not surprised about the betas, but I was really surprised by 14.2. I thought for sure it was going to be the best version of iOS 14.
 
I find my battery autonomy to be at an adequate level since upgrading my iPhone 12 Pro to iOS 14.2. I am not a super heavy user, but I still use my phone often during the day. Stats attached.

I have an iPhone 7. I downloaded the update 14.2 Friday night. My battery is getting crushed. It will drain completely within an hour of use. Apple support has expedited my report to engineering yesterday. They recommend wiping the phone or taking it to a servicer. Not sure what to do. Upgrade (obviously)

I am talking to Apple support as well. Not much help.
 
:rolleyes: iPhone 11 Pro running 14.2 here, currently 6 hours off the charge...at 91%.

But yeah I'm sure it's software update. It's always the software update.

Oh so updating my iPhone to 14.2 and the battery magically drops % like crazy and it’s not the software? After doing a complete new setup and it continues, it still not the the software? The phone was fine on 14.1.

Also I can’t get the same battery life as you if I don’t touch my phone for 6 hours. That proves nothing.
 
The battery drain on my iPhone 12, using ios 14.2 is dramatic. Like using a four year old iphone 6. The battery was superb on ios 14.1.
 
Apparently, Apple is back at it again with their iOS updates that deliberately drain your battery life. My iPhone X was running at peak battery performance before I downloaded iOS 14.2. I noticed the battery drain immediately.

It is not a coincidence that this is happening as the iPhone 12 is coming out.

This is the last straw for me. Unfortunately, I am going to have to switch to Android. I refuse to shell out for the iPhone 12 when my iPhone X was working perfectly fine 2 days ago.

I hope there is another class-action lawsuit against these jerks.

That isn't what the lawsuit was about though. That said, to each his/her own.
 
I’m noticing this on my 7 Plus, draining 20% overnight doing nothing. I wonder if there’s something with the radio software/driver since signal coverage in my country is erratic.

Made the jump to a Pixel over this crap man. Not worth the headache.

So what was the lawsuit about then? Battery fatigue, was it not? Anyway, this isn’t rare — people downloading the latest iOS update only to find their phones draining faster the next morning. Oh, and it’s always conveniently in time for the release of the newest iPhone.
 
Hey, installed iOS 14.2 2-3 days ago on iPhone 12. I saw a bit more battery usage in stand by. However, tonight I lost 40%, that's FORTY PERCENT overnight with no usage whatsoever. Woke up at 9% and went to sleep with 50%. Definitely downgrading back to 14.1. Quite horrific actually.
 
Battery life in 14.2 took a hit during the settling phase but now it’s at least as strong as iOS 13. :)
