For what it's worth, the second Egoway battery I had in mine eventually fell off a cliff in terms of capacity a few months after my last post. I ended up buying a NOS Apple battery that held up until I replaced the computer a few years later.

The OWC battery looks like it comes from the same factory as the Egoway.

Hello,

The Nupower battery is still in service but it now barely lasts 45 minutes. If I am doing any work on the MBP it needs to be plugged in. I have moved on from my MacBook Pro as my primary system but I do want to keep it running. I will purchase a new battery but it will likely be the first one I can find. The cost for me to get the Nupower battery in Canada is not worth it and it did not have the longevity I was hoping for.

I hope it helps.........

Oh I’m in Canada too :).

It’s gonna cost me $154 CAD to get the Nupower battery for my Mac Air mid 2013 from OWC to Vancouver. So I’m like meh… A little too costly for a 9-year-old Mac.

Now, you did mention keeping your MBP plugged in when you’re using it. My original battery has about 2350 cycle counts. Apple said Service Recommend, but coconutBattery said Fair health. Would you recommend me doing the same thing and treat the Air more like a desktop? Will it make the battery swell?

Running your MBA with it plugged in will not cause the battery to swell, but, you should not leave it plugged in all of the time. Li-ion batteries like to have power moving through them and work best when they are charged and discharged regularly.

Here is some further reading on the subject:

You will find that people have lots of opinions on this subject (heads-up !!).

Good Luck.......
