I have been using my Shortcut reminder to unplug at 96% charge everyday.
Occasionally I miss the reminder and the battery gets charged to 100%. Most of the time, however, I unplug it at 96% and the phone rests unplugged overnight. I am not a heavy user and when I get home in the evening, it is at around 40-50%.
I do not have wireless charger.

I bought my 12 mini shortly after the launch and the battery health is at 100%.
I am wondering how this result compares against those who have different charging habits.

Unplug it before 96%.
It's easier on the battery to go from 80% down to 20% than 96% down to 36%.
It's the higher voltages that age the battery faster.

I bought my 12 PM in April I believe so my battery health is still 100%.
I just charge when I feel I need to. I don’t worry about letting it go to 100%.

Launch day 12 Pro Max at 93%. I’ve been charging with one of the many 5W Apple charging blocks I have had over the years. I don’t let it go below 20%, and charge whenever I feel it’s necessary. I have AppleCare+, so I’ll get a battery replacement when I reach 80%.

I don’t understand the careful manipulation some have advised- unplugging at 96%, not leaving it plugged in once reaching 100%, etc.

The phone manages all of this- it drops the current to a trickle in that last 20% , and once it reaches 100% it stops pulling a current- so it’s perfectly fine to plug in the phone when going to bed and unplug it in the morning.

You will notice that the charging brick is hot when actively charging- but after 100% it gets cold because there is no electricity going through it at that point.

This is how I’ve always charged my phones- my mini is still at 99% health… my previous phones after a year were at 98 to 100% after a full year charging this way.

Had the phone 8 months, at 98% with daily (and sometimes twice daily) charging.

Absolutely this. I don’t get why we have collectively decided that manufactures don’t think about this or that there’s worthwhile wear to avoid by constantly babying the battery -there isn’t.

Just use it without worrying and get a new battery if it really wears that fast.

And I mean, at least half the people doing all this battery babying are getting a brand new iPhone in 1-3 years. So just let Apple worry about how the thing charges..!

And the whole turning percentages of wear into a sport is just the worst.

No, you’re not better than me because my 12 is at 92% and yours is still at 100%. And I don’t care about your insanely arduous charging setup.

It’s a consumer product meant to be replaced or disposed eventually, not your lung capacity or a piece of art.

Seriously? Is that tone and attitude really necessary? It’s a simple question asking what peoples battery percentages are. No one is asking you to give up your life savings or to sacrifice one of your offspring to some God.

And exactly who said they are better than you because their battery percentage is higher than yours?

iphone mini launch day, the battery still works :D

97% lots of fast charging with ipad pro 2018 charger

btw this poll and thread is ridiculous (no offense), you cant compare so many diffrent users with diffrent usage and charging habits, also the batteries differ in quality, nothing you can do about the latter

It’s funny because from here, it looks like you really care a lot.

I checked just now myself, I also have 89%!!!! ? Got it in December, 12 Mini
Me too: 89% iPhone 12 mini. Got it in November. Red color. Not happy because I’ve been trying hard to keep the battery healthy, and in the past 1.5 months, I noticed it went from 94% to 89%. Gonna go to Apple Store to see if something is wrong with it.

Edit: just checked and it’s now down to 88%!!! Fuuuu$$….

12 Pro Max - launch day delivery. 94%, i plug it in every night with various state of charge, usually between 50-60% left, I do not charge during the day.

This is the first iPhone I've had since they started doing the battery monitoring to be less than 100% in less than 1 year, usually they started going down after for me, same usage & charging patterns. So it was either inaccurate before, or it's inaccurate now, or the 12 Pro Max has a worse quality battery.

Phone battery health is at 90% in less than a year. Did the same thing with my iPhone X with minimal health issues. Pretty disappointed in how quickly it’s diminished. My spouse has had her iPhone 11 for nearly two years and it’s health is at 96%.
