How's your iOS 11 battery life?

With iOS 11.1 now I'm still keeping an eye on battery usage and actual usage and standby numbers, but one thing that still seems to be present is some inconsistency when it comes to battery percentage use/display. Most of the time each percentage will last a certain amount of time, but every once in a while a percentage drop will be much quicker even while doing the same thing.
The % is just messed up badly, at least for me. I'm on 11.1 as well and yesterday all was good until I hit the 48% mark. Then when I played a 20 min long youtube video, it drops to 2% battery...

I reboot my phone and then it shows 31% but quickly decreese to 14% and stay there forever until I plug the phone.

Realy tired of this.

Something like that almost sounds more like a battery issue in most cases. In my case there are no jumps that skip some percentages, just that some percentages drop much quicker compared to other (like I'll be browsing forums using Safari and the percentage will be at 75% for let's say like 8 minutes, then it will drop to 74% but then it will drop to 73% just about a minute or two later, and then will stay at 73% for a more typical longer period of time).

Try using your phone until it turns off and then charging it back to 100% nonstop. That should fix it.

I've done that a few times with 11.0.x and once with iOS 11.1 yesterday, but still saw the inconsistency with a few faster percentage drops.

Check your battery’s mAh capacity using coconut battery on the Mac. Only that can accurately check your phone’s battery capacity. If it’s low, it should be the battery.

Battery's fine, the issue doesn't appear to be with the battery itself nor the battery meter calibration.

I got nothing mate :/ both my 7 Plus and 8 Plus are fine. No erratic battery meter behavior.

If I were you’d, I’d try restoring and setting up as new. If that doesn’t fix it, it’s a hardware issue.

Hmmm I had 19% battery from 8x% this mornig and Siri used 27% of it. The thing is, I can’t even remember the last time I’ve used Siri at all.
I’m gonna monitore this...
(iOS 11.1)

Edit: Fixed by deactivating Siri + reboot and reactivating!

My battery dropped as usual to 80% after 2 hours but it's been stuck there for half na hour now. Really hate iOS 11. First time this has happened to me since I updated to 11.2

I checked mine multiple times and sometime it says 86% and sometimes 71-75% but apple say my battery is at 87% and refuse to replace it.

Just purchased an iPhone 8 a few days ago. The battery % is dropping fast after it gets below 50%. Otherwise the phone is great. I’m on iOS 11.1. Is the 11.2 beta any better? Thanks.

It’s not better. It’s almost the same. Maybe a slight improvement.

8 or 8 Plus? Post a screenshot of your battery usage times.

People need to give it a few days and a few battery cycles to get a better idea of a typical cycle.

Should have to wait more than a day or two.
I woke up at 6:30 viewed a few web pages and checked email. Drove my daughter to school then made three phone calls. As I type I have 59% left after 2 hours and 30 minutes of being off the charger. That’s with minimal use. iPhone 6S Plus.

This is getting stupid!

Come on Apple get your together.

One thing I am noticing was that usually I can sit on 100% for around 30-40 minutes of usage before dropping to 99% but since 11.1 I am only averaging around 17 minutes usage before the drop occurs, then its downhill from there, significantly quicker than before

Ok, so I finally have great battery life with my iPhone 8 Plus on iOS 11.0.3 and I’m very hesitant to upgrade to 11.1 and go through bad battery life hell again. Should I hold off on upgrading?

Also, I don’t know what the hell is going on with Apple lately. Their quality control is horrible these days. I bought an iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7 and iPad 9.7 (2017) within the past couple months and they’ve all had hardware issues and had to go back to Apple and get replaced. I’m curious as to what issues we’ll see with the iPhone X.

FWIW, for me (iPhone 7) 11.1 has been noticeably better than any 11.0.x as far as battery life is concerned, but not quite the same battery life as I was getting with iOS 10. Hoping 11.2 will bring further improved battery life.

I get just over 5hours using my 6S+ on 11.0.3, I used to get 9-10 hours of usage. I really hope Apple fixes this..

Restore it and set it up as new. You will get 7-8 hours guaranteed.

I did reset it, made no difference. 5h of battery life. Complained to Apple and got a new battery for free.

Now I get 10h of battery life.

Did they say what was the battery health before it changes it?

I complained two times and both times they said my battery was ok but it’s still very bad on my 6s+

I did complain in September and they ran a test and said the battery was OK. Then I reset by phone 2 weeks ago and the battery life was still bad. Called up Apple and had some problem with an advisor claiming my AppleCare+ expired 2 days ago.

I claimed that I called them about the battery issue earlier and that I did a reset and it was not resolved, hence their test was not correct in my opinion.

Got transferred to a senior advisor that promised a new battery installed, free of charged. Had a new battery the same day.

Great service.
