I know it's a bit early to say what the impact of 11.1 is on battery life, but this is a thread to report your experience as it becomes available. It's important to include 3 pieces of info:

1)What device and model this pertains to: iPhone, iPad etc. which model, generation and so on.

2)What you are making a comparison from: are you going from 11.0.3 or 10 or what.

3)What is your experience of the battery life from 11.1 compared to what you had before.

Battery life is a super important thing for most people, so this would be helpful in letting people know what they can expect.

1.) iPhone 8

2.) I would like to compare it to the iPhone 7, which was my previous phone. I believe iOS 11.0 had a huge hit on battery life on my 7. The 7 wasn't known for it's exceptional battery life so you can imagine how bad it was becoming. I return home with my 7 at about 18%-20% with about 2 hours of off-screen audio streaming. The rest would be Safari browsing, manual mail fetching for a few minutes and texting. This is my usage habit. Ever since I got the iPhone 8, when 11.1 was already available, it was a breeze. It felt the hardware and software function together. Battery life was substantially improved and I can only pinpoint it to the much better A11 chip which could have had a bump in power efficiency. Now I would compare my new iPhone 8 with 11.1 with an iPhone 7 I got a year ago on launch day with iOS 10. The 8 is a better phone with the 11.1 out of the box.

3.) It has been great. Currently at 6 hours with 39% of battery juice left. I don't have to keep checking my battery percentage (which I turn off) every time I browse Safari for an hour or so.

From what I am seeing iPhone 7 and above 11.1 seems to have improved battery, below the 7 battery life still dire. I can confirm this on my 6S, No matter what I have tried battery life has been awful.
Is that better than 10.3.3 or just better than the original 11 upgrade?

Got some rather above average numbers today on my iPhone 7 running iOS 11.1.2 (even under iOS 10 I didn't really get these type of numbers all that often):

This is my first iPhone ever so I can’t make any comparison!
That’s my best numbers so far.

According to your opinion, as you can see the first app for use is Amazon and there is a high usage in the background.
Does it mean that I should close the app every time because that background time has contributed to battery consumption?

That's great to hear. Battery life on my iPhone 7 has been just awful since I upgraded to iOS 11 (Not helped to be fair by the fact that I got my first AW so now have Bluetooth on all the time). Am just about to upgrade to the 8 so I'm happy to hear batter life is better.

Why the hell would Amazon need to run in the background? If I were you, I'd go to Settings>General>Background App Refresh and turn Amazon off.

And will the notifications of discounts and deliveries be shown the same?

Ps: is already turned off!

Notifications work separately from apps in terms of whether they are running or not.

background app refresh is off for all apps.
So why Amazon was open in background for about 2 hours?

Background app refresh is just one aspect of apps being able to run in the background. Apps can run in the background unrelated to background app refresh. As far as what they might be doing, that's a different question that is harder to answer as different apps could be doing different things for different reasons. That said, an app like Amazon probably shouldn't be doing something in the background for a long time (unless it's perhaps tracking location for some reason or playing back audio or something like that).

No it’s not tracking position (turned off) and it’s not playing back music.
So it’s an anomaly?
What could it be?

Hard to say. Could be some glitch and just something stuck. Could be something else. Is it always doing that for you?

No man, it started yesterday.
I'm waiting for a couple of deliveries.
Can this be the reason why?
Could be of any help if I kill the app after using it?
I mean...

Killing it should stop it from running in the background.
