I have a screen shutoff time of 3 minutes and the brightness slider is about a third from the lowest position...Getting Mails and other messages regularly which switches the display on every time. Checking this messages often which also switches the display on for at least 3 minutes. The activity time is mostly identical to the "display on" time (dark blue bar).

Two days ago I tried to bring the battery down intentionally by setting the brightness to maximum and replay an endless YouTube video. That brought the battery down to 28% with 4 hours activity.

thanks for your help, i’ll try the youtube test next at full brightness and see what I get ( was it over wifi? ).

out of curiosity how much charge do you get in the evenings before turning it off?

i’m currently at the end of the second day with 35% remaining and 5h 25 mins sot with similar optimizations, except wifi on.

Yes it was over wifi. With normal usage (no YouTube tests) am have left between 60%-80%. If I am above 70% I often did not recharge it over night. In this case I am still over 50% the next evening.

Today at 09:45 pm I have 2:38 sot and used up 24% battery capacity after charging the XR till about 8:00 in the morning. So 5:25 would use up about 50% battery capacity based on sot with my usage profile....(that might be a little more in reality over 2 days because the phone also uses some battery in the night without sot...). I leave it uncharged today and tell you tomorrow...

thanks, i’ve also just got the
geekbench app ( do you have it ? ) which has a battery test section, i’ll run that too.

Yes I have it, but it brings the battery completely down which might not be that good for it....

i know what you mean.
hmm i’ll run it anyway, i reckon I can’t tolerate not knowing :)

I would appreciate if you run it too, even if only the partial one, i would be curious to hear your findings.
but i understand if you don’t want to go ahead.

i’ll run it with dim on.

best

I got 7h30m sot between the 2 days combined. Also geekbench battery was 7h27m and score was in-line with what seen online. I'm ok - happy with the results.

I'd like to run a 1080p youtube over wifi video for 4 hours next, in order to compare how much battery drain I get, when compared to your test.

Would you mind elaborating on settings you used, also was it a specific video? I suppose wifi signal quality, audio volume and autobrightness would have an impact to be honest.
P.s.
I found a good and long cabin ride video which would be suitable:

EDIT:
I actually completed my first run, I couldn't get back to my desk in time so it over-run, I ended up draining 85% in 4h45 minutes, which is on-par with your findings Alex.

The only thing really is all this posts of people claiming stellar sot times from 2-3 months ago.
I suppose low power mode as well as actual app used is a factor.
The 3d games I would usually play drain the battery super quickly, on the other hand safari was affecting battery life very little.

I used a fireplace video because they run very long (10 hours and more):

I am now at 33% battery level at the second day without recharging at night. The sot is combined 5:40. Today I phoned a lot with AirPods. That might not count as sot because the display is off.
