ping trouble after the patch

I used to have no problem running bf, my ping is consistently in the 10-20 usually... shortly after installing the patch, something is causing my ping to jump in the 350-450 about every 10 secs. in any of the server...

my net connection seems ok as it's running ok with no lag any other game programs or applications

any idea what could be causing this?

Still no offline play :(

Well, the update improved some of the game aspects but still doesn't offer offline play.
Why?
I'd like to run around some of the maps without being online (like when I'm sitting on the train with much better stuff to do - I'm running it on a MBP :D).
I understand that the PC version has an update which allowed this, again :apple: users are left out.

Of course correct me if I am wrong and doing something stupidly wrong :p

wow i never noticed that in single player you had to log on. that really sucks. i wonder why that is.

UMM, that type of message from a new user looks totally like a spyware attack waiting to happen. If that update is really from EA/Dice, why is it not available????

I'm too scared to try it.

If you are afraid of spyware this bad, and don't yet understand how not to get it... then you might just close your browser.

I read so many forums where users say, "don't click those new user links, it might be spyware". Cracks me up.

"Don't breath, your heart might stop!"

Whatever

The haughty are the easiest targets....

Think about it: when this was released EA had not released any official fixes but yet some new user comes along and says "hey click here and I've got the fix for you..." Now in this case he was right and i've since installed it and yes it works. but in general if you're saying caution in such a circumstance is unwarranted, then by all means follow your own advice, but I'll do differently .

You can never be enough careful. As a general rule only trust what's on the official websites www.battlefield.com or www.ea.com.

My previous post was just an attempt to give you access as early as possible. I have received a lot of emails since (someone was kind enough to post my address earlier in this thread ;)).

I would like to assure you that we take every issue seriously. However I really recommend you to use the ticket system found at http://support.ea.com for you questions. I am unable to respond to every single email personally, but the we will respond to every single question that you may have.

Thanks,
