So Tim Cook wants to advertise that Apple is making cables that are USB 2.0, which is a 25 year old technology. "Can't innovate anymore, my a**!"

Cute ad, but the messaging is way too "oh, look at me, how do I look?" bleh. Missed opportunity.
Wanting others to think we're cool is a pretty important feature for all humanity and nothing to be ashamed of, if it's not the only thing one cares about. No surprise it's the main focus for a fashion item's ad, it's like... what they do. Not sure why the disgust.

Interesting ad. Nothing special with the cable. The red colour is nice. The smaller cable could have been cheaper.

Apple's Beats brand today shared a new ad in its ongoing Pill People series, this time highlighting the various USB-C cables that Beats debuted earlier this week.

The Pill People ad campaign features anthropomorphized Beats Pill speakers with different personalities. Beats has been using the Pill People since it launched the updated Beats Pill last summer.

Apple's Beats brand is now offering several USB-C cables, including USB-C to USB-C, USB-C to USB-A, and USB-C to Lightning. The cables come in 1.5-meter and 20-centimeter options, with both sizes priced at $18.99. The cables come in four colors, and they can be purchased from the online Apple Store or Apple retail stores.

lol. Advertisements for a USB C cable. What is happening.

cute ad but amazon has tons of cables available.
The vaaast majority of which are complete garbage. I know - I've tried several cables over the years.

Just last night, I was removing yet another staple-shaped piece of metal from a kid's iPad, that broke off of an Amazon Overall Pick USB cable. That was the last of a 4-pack (stocking stuffers). Each one saw the exact same fate - after about 1-2 mos, that little staple-shaped piece would stay in the iPad. Took some laptop screwdrivers to get the piece out.

Not all cables are created equal. In my experience, you get what you pay for.

Edit: typos.

lazyrighteye: Please do not confuse folks here with actual facts.... I have NO idea as to the qualilty of these cables...NO ONE here does and they won't until someone opens one up. Yeah, compare these to cheap crap $1.99 cables...brillant move guys. Lots of quality vids on Youtube about cables and their design/construction--they are all far from equal. Pricing seems on par with other 'name' cables by Anker etc. Again-quality is an unknown until someone opens one up.

Are these the same thin and flexible cables Apple adds to iPhones, Magic Mouse etc? If so, these are quite nice for charging-only and I have yet to find another product with similar thin and elastic cables.

cute ad but amazon has tons of cables available. apple just trying to cash in on the beats name and cables. nothing special about them but the colorz
That's why I have a bunch of Anker brand USB Type C to USB Type C braided cables myself. Got them for around US$4.00 per 1 meter cable.
