The UK airwaves were definitely temporarily better without him.

How do US users feel having been exposed to him for the first time?

The man is too enthusiastic. About everything. There are bad songs in existence you know Zane, not everything is the best record in the world (since the last one you claimed was, presumably)

I think with Zane he picked what he wanted to play outwith the usual BBC playlists therefore did actually really like everything he played.

I really went off him during Glastonbury coverage a few years ago when he totally spoke down about Beyonces performance and he came across really elitist

I get the feeling Americans dig anyone with an English/Aussie accent. If the DJs had good old American accents would Beats 1 be as popular? I think not.
 
I like Zane but I feel the radio could do with less of them talking over the songs, introduce the song play it in its entirety without speaking over the last 20 seconds of it etc that's the kind of gruff that annoys me about radio in general, say what you want between the songs but leave the songs to play in full without your commentary.

I like him, he's a bit over enthusiastic sometimes but he was one of the first to play bands like the Arctic Monkeys and bring them into the mainstream.

If that's all you want then that's available too. After every Beats1 show they post a playlist of all the songs played on each show each day.
 
I think he's great. His energy matches the energy of the music he plays. And I really don't mind him talking over songs. He makes it feel like more of an experience he's giving you than just a playlist.

Best DJ on the planet. Has a diverse and wide ranging taste and his enthusiasm is infectious. Was a great move from BBC to this for him. Will be listening regularly. In fact, I rushed the 8.4 download just to listen to him.

Really wondering how many like the music selection on Beats1 - For me it is the worst radio station I ever heard till now. First off the annoying DJs talking into music all the time and talking like on drugs. 2nd I can't stand all the hiphop and RnB junk that gets played. I missing some normal music.
