$79.99 is not budget. Certainly not for a subpar device like this. No charging the case is ridiculous.
Just as people are pointing out that the $249 AirPod Pros are often on sale for $189, I bet we'll see these on sale for $59 or so frequently. Seems like a solid basic headphone. I have the ones with ANC, but can't say that's the most important feature to me as I use them just for my Apple Fitness+ workouts in a quiet gym space. I got those to replace my Beats Flex, because I couldn't stand the cord on my neck. Probably would be completely happy with these for that application. I do have AirPod Pros I use when traveling and for work calls.

If they're $50 or $60 they're a better deal, but without noise cancelling or advanced codec support it seems like the software features (device rollover, etc) are the only thing making these stand out from cheaper ones like those from Skull Candy. I don't know about SC's current lineup, they may have also dropped the case battery, but the pair I got a couple years ago were like $25, and still hold a decent charge after being forgotten for months, probably because of that case battery. I think if I had multiple Apple devices, though, I might think it a bargain for the convenience of rollover between them without having to re-pair.
