LOL - According to a recent post on their blog, MobileChat just got rejected YET AGAIN!!! How many times has this been now?? It is soooo laughable at this point.

If it was more than $3 for the app, I'd be pissed. But I knew when I bought into the app that I was probably going to regret it considering the run up to it actually getting released. That in itself was a huge drama. I made a post on their blog under a different username predicting most of this and they made a blog post calling me out and whining about people criticizing them.

Beejive, Palringo and AIm will be more than enough to do the job once PUSH comes out. I'm sure Google will follow with a Gtalk app at some point as well. MobileChat had their chance to grab a base before all these big guys came out and failed miserably. They need to just cut their losses and move on. The ship has set sail without them.

I have just emailed them for a refund, it's simply not worth it to wait for their useless application anymore.. I have waited long enough, it's not about the money.. just the fact that we who have paid aren't getting any thing out of the application at all, so why continue to support them??? MobileChat is hopeless!!!!!!!

LOL

Personally, once PUSH comes for all apps, AIM will be all you need. I wish Google would make a Gtalk for the iPhone like their web app.

not for people that have friends on msn, gtalk like me :p i think only my American friends are on AIM. all my friends outside the the country use MSN.

regarding the beejive costs. it's definitely a bit high for a chat program so i'm just going to wait to see if they drop the price or have super stellar reviews (legit).

sure palringo or IM+ may put advertising later, but aim, yahoo, msn have advertising in their programs on the PC/Apple platform and it doesn't bother me at all.

Doesn't surprise me. That's the kind of operation they run over there. I was referring to a post I made under a different username a while back until they banned guest posting and required me to make a username. The writing is on the wall for them and I am pretty sure they know it. They just are trying to save face and make things look like they are alright. I would be surprised if anyone bought this thing considering how pathetic they've handled everything.

I guess it would look even worse if all the negative comments were flooding their site. Just look at the iTunes page. They can't delete those.

From MobileChat:

Unfortunately, It should have been up tonight.

Look's like there's going to be another round/week of back and forth before it gets up there.

It was officially rejected, again. We can't say too much now that Apple considers rejection letters part of the NDA.

We'll figure out what we can say and post a blog in the morning.

From MobileChat:

Read that just a little while ago.

MC is a joke. I was one of the (EXTREMELY) patient ones, waiting for 3.1 to drop in hopes that MC could redeem itself, never asked for a refund, etc. Of course, everyone's given ANOTHER run-around again. They could have gained a little bit of momentum with the pending release of Beejive, which is right around the corner, by re-capturing some of their user base back, assuming 3.1 stabilized MobileChat and made it fully functional.

By supposedly getting rejected AGAIN, and most likely making everyone who bought MC come to their wits' end, these guys really just dug their own grave, and i personally cannot see them recovering, as people who weren't going to buy Beejive shell out $16.00 in droves just to have a fully-functioning, reliable chat client. How ironic would it be if Beejive appears in the AppStore next week while MobileChat can't even get 3.1 out after what, 6 weeks now? These guys are seriously bordering on fraud here.

I'm going to give the developers just one more go with this update. They've had enough time to update it, and after many failed attempts, if this time it doesn't work then I'm sorry, but they can give me a refund.

Why would a developer RELEASE an unfinished product? It makes no sense at all.

probably their scummy method of "raising" capital to hire real programmers to "complete" the app so that it'll work and to purchase servers and such

$15.99 isn't bad, considering they charge $19.99 for the Blackberry version, and $29.99 if you want a license to be able to switch Blackberries in case you upgrade your Blackberry or you loose it or something. I have personally used this application in a Blackberry and its by far the best messaging application offered for the Blackberry platform. If its anything like the one they have for the Blackberry, I'm sold.

If this is a solid app, with background notifications via push, I will buy it. Being constantly connected to MSN all the time, from your phone, is a service that is well worth the money. In fact it's the kind of thing one could only dream of a few years ago.

Don't expect push yet. I don't think apple has allowed it yet :(. Anyway, $16 is a rip-off. $10 is my limit, and for an IM app probably less. I wouldn't be surprised to see a sale or a price drop.

It was so obvious that "push" would be delayed from Apple...lame.

This app won't be worth the money until that feature is activated and working solidly.

$16 is a mistake for them. I'm not gonna buy it and neither will a lot of other people. $9.99--at least (most?)--would draw a lot more sales.

Well I do agree that $16 is expensive. But IM+ isn't exactly the most polished app, it works but it's nothing special. Mobile Chat, which I nearly bought, apparently doesn't even work at all. When push launches BeeJive will be persistent, it looks good and will hopefully be stable. It'll also hopefully have good support and updates. So for me at least it seems like it's worth the cost.
