Posting this to see if I'm the only one that does this.

Every since having the iPhone 4 and moving to the 4s i always felt the need to switch to an android so eventually when i get the phone i don't get too used to it that i get bored.

It all started with this

Mytouch 4G Slide
iPhone 4
Amaze 4G
iPhone 4s
LG G2
iPhone 4s
Nexus 4
iPhone 5
Samsung Galaxy S4

Do you do the same thing and if yes what are the phones you have switched from

I tend to have a new iPhone and a couple of androids or other OS's each year and jump between them given the time they come out (spring / summer / winter)....

Just since September last I've had iPhone 4S, HTC 8X, One X, iPhone 5, HTC One, S4, Z10..... and I will get a 5S..... I used to always have an iPhone and 'something else' and the something else could be anything. Now I am iPhone'less and am between BB10 & Android... Basically if its more than a few months old with me, its doing well :)

Been through 4S,iPhone 5, Atrix 4 G, S3,Galaxy nexus,Note 2 , Lumia 900 and 920 and HtC 8X all in past 12 months.

Brought and resold both the S3 and Note 2 twice.

Haven't lost a single penny.

Lots of peeps like to trade phones.

I do this too or something similar. iPhone definitely gets boring and switching makes me appreciate and love it all over again once I come back :) Like someone so "nicely" said above it is an expensive habit though.

I'm right there with ya. I change phones more than I change socks, it seems!

Out of curiosity, since you've apparently already used the G2, what's it like? :p Just messing with ya! I know what you meant. :D

I'm thinking it's just you. This seems very expensive and completely pointless...

I'm thinking it's not just him, since a couple of people that posted after your useless drivel (including me) are the same way. Why do people feel the need to come into threads and act like children?

It's actually only expensive to get into the "game". Once you're in, if you know what you're doing, you'll never lose money buying and selling phones. Since I've been doing this for a while now, I've learned it's similar to the stock market...you have to know when to buy and when to sell to maximize your profits.

Example #1. aneftp is like me...tried tons of different phones and not lost a penny. This is how it's done! :D

I'm really waiting on two phones right now...ok, maybe 3...LOL.

The G2 since I loved my OG so much...the iPhone 5S to see what nuggets Apple throws in...and the Note 3, although I'm not as hyped over it as I once was.

I'm still sitting on an upgrade and trying to figure out what I want to do. I may just pocket it and keep trading phones until I end up with a G2. Maybe I'll burn the upgrade on the iPhone 5S and sell it BNIB and use the funds towards the G2.

I'm seriously torn right now. :D

Having read your history with phones I am guessing you'll get the 5S, Note3, and a G2! ;) :D

I usually do one phone a year, but this past year I had a 4s, a Lumia 920, and a Galaxy S4.

I found many things to love and hate about each phone/OS. I'm more or less at the point now where I'm just using the S4 because I like the larger screen size. If Apple put out a screen that big I think I'd just go back to the simple life, at least for my main phone. I'll probably always keep an Android tablet around the house.

Got three phones so far this year and only two have managed to pass my test.

4S
Samsung galaxy S3 (got sold)
HTC One

So far the HTC has managed to stay with me, I like my 4S a lot because it pairs well with my ipad. The galaxy had to go because touch wiz began to become really frustrating, I much prefer sense to touch wiz.

Eventually if the moto x lives up to the hype I might buy one just because if the customization purposes. I'll have to wait till end of August to decide.

4 phones this year, iPhone 5, Galaxy Note 2, HTC One (both black and white models) and an LG OG Pro. Still plan on getting the iPhone 5S and either the Note 3 or One Max later this year.

Though those last 2 I plan on keeping for a while as next year I would like to upgrade my 2011 macbook air, and I cant do that if I'm buying a new phone every couple of months.

Um, no. I just keep getting a Android and i never get tired of it. How can i? It does so much. Different phone yes but not different OS.

Really i dont see how you can have a Nexus 4 and a GS4 and want to go back to iOS. Im not one to keep getting multiple phones. I do a ton of research, pick the one i want and stick with it til its time to upgrade and now i can do that more often with T-Mobile but i still will go at least a year with one. I can only use one at a time so why have three?
My next phone sometime soon will be a GS4, Nexus 5(or whatever it will be called) or a Moto X.

Don't get me wrong I've had an S3, Nexus 4, and then on to the S4, but yeah agreed. This is pointless! My next, and final phone for a while will be the iPhone 5S.

Everyone should do this right before they upgrade. People are always willing to trade in phones on Craigslist.

That way you can get a feel for whatever you might of missed.

I went from iPhone 5 to note 2. Than upgraded to the s4 based on that experience.

S4 was kind of clunky with half baked features but flashing the Google edition rom on has made it flawless.

I haven't played this game for my phones, but do dabble in the trading game with my tablets...

Past 5 years (phones)

iPhone 3G (upgraded)
iPhone 4 (upgraded)
iPhone 5 (own)

Past 3 years (tablets)

iPad 1 (sold)
Blackberry Playbook (sold)
iPad 2 (just had to go back, lol - sold)
iPad 3 (sold)
Nexus 7 (1st gen - sold)
iPad Mini (sold)
Nexus 10 (own)
Nexus 7 (2nd gen - own)
...anxiously waiting on iPad 5!

Most the time, I've been able to sell my tablet and my ownership of said tablet ran at or LESS than just $10 a month, not bad when you break it down like that!

I buy most of my phones outright. Why? because I can. its nothing for me to have 3 or 4 phones at one time. I have 2 lines with AT&T and 2 lines with Sprint. Right now In current rotation I have the iPhone 4s, HTC One X and the Galaxy s4. I'll definitely be getting the 5s if only to see how it stacks up against the other heavyweights.

I just like gadgets period.

You obviously have far too much money to burn and a low boredom threshold from reading that. I use whatever phone I have at the time for the length of its contract and have far more important things to worry about personally. :)

The first step in getting help is realizing that you have a problem. :)

----------

I tend to have a new iPhone and a couple of androids or other OS's each year and jump between them given the time they come out (spring / summer / winter)....

Just since September last I've had iPhone 4S, HTC 8X, One X, iPhone 5, HTC One, S4, Z10..... and I will get a 5S..... I used to always have an iPhone and 'something else' and the something else could be anything. Now I am iPhone'less and am between BB10 & Android... Basically if its more than a few months old with me, its doing well :)

But, why? Are phones your hobby? Is it the thing that turns you on? That you're passionate about?

----------

Since 2010 I've been averaging about 3 phones a year. I switch out often.

HTC Hero
Palm Pixie
Samsung Nexus S 4G
HTC Evo
Galaxy SII E4GT
Galaxy SII (AT&T)
Samsung Intrigue
iPhone 3GS
iPhone 4S
iPhone 5
Galaxy S4

What is the motivation for you? Because I can't imagine that you have any real time to get accustomed to a phone between switching them out. Do you do the same thing with TVs? PCs? Gaming consoles?

----------

I buy most of my phones outright. Why? because I can. its nothing for me to have 3 or 4 phones at one time. I have 2 lines with AT&T and 2 lines with Sprint. Right now In current rotation I have the iPhone 4s, HTC One X and the Galaxy s4. I'll definitely be getting the 5s if only to see how it stacks up against the other heavyweights.

I just like gadgets period.

What other, non-phone gadgets do you collect?
