The first step in getting help is realizing that you have a problem. :)

----------

But, why? Are phones your hobby? Is it the thing that turns you on? That you're passionate about?

----------

What is the motivation for you? Because I can't imagine that you have any real time to get accustomed to a phone between switching them out. Do you do the same thing with TVs? PCs? Gaming consoles?

----------

What other, non-phone gadgets do you collect?

I think for a lot of us, myself included, technology in general is a hobby. Phones are unique b.c a new one comes out every few months that brings something different to the table. Tvs are different since you really have 3 choices (4k has no content and is too expensive right now) and there are 3 game consoles every 7 years. I change phones every 6ish months. It is not that expensive after you buy your initial phone.

I just wait till the phones I like go no contract and the price is reasonable. I own many phones, I have no problem with addiction as these devices are a work of high technology and I ain't stuck with $100 a month contracts like so many.

Then I sell some of them. Ever heard of swappa?

I like technology. I also go through TV's , Consoles, Handhelds, Laptops, Home Appliances & Gadgets etc....

I don't drink, don't smoke, don't go to the pub or night clubbing, so other than the GYM and cycling / hiking & climbing - gadgets are as much my hobby as anything else.

The money I don't spend on drinking, smoking and loose women - goes on technology and I'm fine with that ..... :D

As for it being a thing that 'turns me on' ? If you mean sexually then no - thankfully personal appliances are not used to fill 'a void' [smut smut] ....

Yep if your a serial trader / seller / swapper - then the amount of over lay can often be quite small.

For example my BB10 Z10 test for last few weeks will end with me selling the handset. As I got it cheap on eBay for €200 - and can sell it for around €350 on trade sites here (or swap it for a different handset) then either I'm breaking even or making a profit.

So yeah - it doesn't have to be prohibitively expensive hobby at all, especially if you are canny.

You obviously have far too much money to burn and a low boredom threshold from reading that. I use whatever phone I have at the time for the length of its contract and have far more important things to worry about personally. :)

I won't say i have money Its just I'm a good business man.

From the iPhone 5 to the Samsung Galaxy S4 all i did was trade with someone i found on craigslist.

Note. I only traded the iPhone and charger for the S4 with Box and Everything in it. So the basic person might think i spend a lot of money but no i don't. i just trade wisely.

I keep all the boxes of all the phones i have had since it was a part of me.

For the Nexus 4 i bought it on the Google Play Store for $349 for the 16GB version. Sold it on ebay for $460. So as you can see its a business. A Good Addiction that can lead to profits and a little note i also kept the Nexus 4 box for that price

My plan is to sell the Samsung Galaxy S4 when the iPhone 5s comes out thats why i never took out the charger and earphones. They are still wrapped and the phone has been in a case since purchase so to the average person, its a new phone without a box and i can sell it for $500+

This is a Good Addiction, and it exercises my business mindset in the process.
