I really need my upcoming 15Pro to work with CarPlay. Has anyone been able to connect using a usb-a to usb-c cable or adapter? Saw some problems over on the Apple forum too.

Yes. I have a Toyota with wired USB-A CarPlay. Bought an anker cable on amazon ahead of today USB-a to USB-C. works same as always. Listened to the new phone all the way home.

I purchased an adapter and am having problems with it constantly losing connection. Earlier I purchased a cable instead and am waiting for it to be delivered from Amazon, hope it works.

Thanks for the quick replies. Maybe I will give it a chance. I assume if I still have my old iphone (13Pro) I can return the 15 and keep the 13.

I have wireless wifi in one of my cars. In my other I actually like wired better for stability and charging, plus there is a USB port about 6 inches from my iPhone holder.

I purchased a 4 pack of assorted right angle dual USB-C cables (the best for in car) and a 4 pack of A to C adapters. I guess if they won't work ill have to grab an Anker USB-A to USB-C cable.

can ya link this?
These cables work fine with Carplay in our Acura.

Thank you for confirming the CarPlay issue. I’m using the Apple Dongle and it’s randomly turning off and on. Going to get one of these direct cables and hope that works like it has with you guys.

Yeah, I think if a car has wireless Apple CarPlay It should definitely have a charging pad in the car as well. Otherwise you would still need a cable for charging which defeats the purpose.

Has anyone tried using a dual usb-c cable with an adapter like these and had CarPlay work just fine? If not I’ll have to get one of the Anker ones posted.

My wife and I both have wireless CarPlay in both of our cars and we’re both using MagSafe car mounts with wireless charging. The MagSafe mounts are only used as mounts unless we’re driving long distances and using GPS. Then I’ll connect the USB cable.

Not this specific brand but another like it gave me a lot of problems. Better to just invest cable only like $5-$10.

Hey, thanks for the quick replies. Guess I will keep my order for pickup tomorrow. I can play with cables as needed. (Worst case I still have my 13Pro and I think I can change back if I return the 15ProMax. Never had to do this before, however.)
