I wish there was more football/soccer available on TV in the US...I can't watch online because NBC used M$ Silverlight for their live streaming video and Silverlight 2.0 is Intel Mac only. Bah.

Do you have cable? NBC launched a cable channel for 2 weeks only precisely just to show olympic soccer (they also did one for olympic basketball)

Note sure. Maybe the medal results would extend too late into the night and hence they figure they would show packages during the next prime time slot?

I know some of the gymnastics were live on TV at night, but maybe those were short events where the medals are awarded early so they can get to it before it gets too late?
Gymnastics went until 2am and it was live.

wahoooo it's gold for the 3 blondes in a boat..

Don't think there will be to many arguments over the star of the games. 8 Golds, 7 world records and 1 Olympic record. Not a bad week for Mr. Phelps.

Here's a crazy claim from New England Swim Report that Phelps lost to Serbian Cavic in the 100m butterfly the other day. I don't believe any of it but one has to wonder because the photo finish looked awfully close.

 you are right it's a mega crazy claim. The photo finish is really close but Phelps is coming off a full stroke and Cavic is floating in. From what the BBC have reported, they touched at pretty much the same time but the timing pads are pressure sensitive and Phelps hit his just a little harder and stopped the clock first. Don't forget, they show timing down to 1/100th of a second but time down to 1/1000th of a second. There could have been just 1/1000th between them but that would be enough.

Because of **** NBC - I just got to see the men's 100m final.

Bolt is a friggin' monster. Wow. That's about as amazing as anything I've seen in the olympics.

Although all the talk in the swimming has been about Phelps (and a little about Becky Adlington over in the UK) but for me the unsung star has to be Dara Torres. In a sport where early 20s is considered old, she has just won a silver in the 50m freestyle at the ripe old age of 41. Amazingly this is her 5th games (1984, 1988, 1992, 2000 and 2008) and now has 12 Olympic medals including 4 golds. To me this is what the Olympics is all about. If that wasn't enough, she's hot too :D

And if she had gone to Atlanta (1996) and Athens (2004) it would have been 7 times. Too bad her coach, who is ill, couldn't be there to celebrate her two silver medals with her.

This just gets better and better. Another gold for teamGB in the mens lightweight double sculls. They smashed the rest of the field...

I hope not....there will be no way he will repeat this. 8/8...a perfect record...why possibly spoil that? Go down in history as being the best there ever was!

Perhaps we wants to set a higher level for the total golds won?

And we've moved to a current 4th in the medals. Most importantly ahead of the Australians :) One more gold to overtake Germany into third too :)

The one more gold is already in the bag :D Rebecca Romero and Wendy Houvenaghel just have to sort out who gets the gold and who gets the silver. Gerry sutcliffe will be please to see us going ahead of the Aussies. Sports ministers little bet

And Ben Ainslie is out on the water and looking good.

Without sounding to greedy, would be nice to win more golds today than we did yesterday.

Just hope after these Olympics we plough more money in to sports and have an even better 2012 games.

EDIT - Ben Ainslie has just won gold... now 3rd in the medals table.
