just checked my icloud mail (XYZ@icloud.com + @me) which I never use and found 0 spam. :)
I do remember getting 2-3 last time I checked which was more than a year ago.

No, it's even better. Push Spam

The last week or so I am getting pounded by spam at my mac.com address (read me.com and icloud.com for new Mac users).

I keep getting these "Unread Messages" notices from "Support Services". One ever 4 hours or so and because I have Push enabled it's spam delivered speedily to my phone with alerts. Thanks Apple!

My family and friend are the only ones that use this address. I don't use it to sign up for anything.

It's very simple, Apple needs to give us better control over our Apple mail so we can set spam and filters akin to Gmail.

Personally, I would love to see every piece of mail from user not in my address book bounced right back.

I have the same issue. It is fine for a week or two then suddenly it erupts.

I just started getting "I'm a hot chick and I wanna meet you" emails today on my iCloud email.

I never use that email address for anything.

Me too on my ME account in the last week. I use it for nothing but all of a sudden lots of spam. It is frustrating that it doesn't have a better spam detection.
I'm getting more and more on my GMAIL account also but it gets trapped and I only see it if I go into the junk folder.

What is it spring brings out SPAM

Apple has a gaping hole somewhere.

Created a brand new iCloud account for a test iPad we have. I Never have used the account for 1 single email, iTunes, app store etc. Just used it to set up an account (fresh)

In one week, 7 spam messages in the email folder.

I got hammered for a while on my .mac account with a bunch of spam - marked them all as junk on icloud.com and after a few days they mostly stopped. Done. If you leave them in Junk on the site, they're automatically sent to spam@icloud.com, per this article:

http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4019

The issue for me is NOT that I'm getting spam. It's the silent filtering! Apple's been getting hammered in the press for this lately, and they deserve it. They just don't get it.

Throw it all into my Junk folder and let ME sift through it for an occasional legit email. The maddening part is the dropping of messages it THINKS are spam, without the user making the decision on what is and what is not.

Curious

I am curious how many are on AT&T here?

How many are registered with the Apple Developers site?

Some asked what format we were using for our address, e.g. firstName@domain.com, firstLast@domain.com, etc...
My address is a weird one. I have gone for the entire length of time since Dot Mac services started without spam. I don't use it for anything except high level stuff. Now all of the sudden I am getting hammered.

I am aware of their developers server being compromised. I think it was compromised months ago and they didn't notice it.

I also wonder if they outsourced management of the servers?

Cheers!

Also I started using mailnull.com for disposable addresses. You can kill an email address if it gets compromised.

I note a lot of stuff coming on a specific address I use for Dropbox.

Anyone a member of Dropbox from this group?

My volume of spam over the past week or two has steadily climbed again. Its almost like Apple turned off their filter or opened the flood gates. I'm marking them as spam, but I'd like to get them blocked/moved to the spam folder.

So much spam the past few weeks, and last night I woke up to 9 spam emails. I think that's the most ever. C'mon Apple, do something already!

Another question

Ok so I thought of another possibility... Who here is a member of LinkedIn?

They also had a hack incident. See what I am thinking is that someone accessed some service and harvested a bunch of email addresses. Mine was not a common word, phrase, or name. I do have some email accounts in the past that use names and those were quick to receive spam.

Duff-Man says....I got hit with a mini flood starting last evening. It was all basically the same spam message with minor variances. I reported them all to Apple as well as running them through Spamcop. Woke up this morning with at least a dozen more and reported them too. Around 9am this morning (mountain time) it seems to have stopped....none since then. I suspect that once in a while they find some way to make it through the filters and it just takes a day or so for Apple to update them. It's happened before and no doubt will happen again....oh yeah!
