Once again, marketing department choose the touchbar enabled MacBook Pro and not the uglier 'notchBookPro'. Well done Ives, a great design! Maybe Apple will get the hint at some point?
$deity forbid anyone uses anything older than a M1/M2 14/16-inch MBP.. These hubs are sadly very much needed on older models with just two USB/TB ports (one of which is typically used for charging too).

Up to 10Gbps transfer speed. I wonder what it is when there are four 10Gbps capable devices attached.

Tried asking this question on their site but it requires me to turn off my ad-blocker, so I said no.
If all four devices were being used at maximum bandwidth, it would give you something a bit less than 2.5 Gbps. It's the number of ports being used, with just a bit of overhead on top. As was stated above, most people won't be using all four ports to the max at the same time. it gets even more complicated when you consider that many of the legacy devices you are connecting to can't support the full bandwidth anyway. If you are connecting four cheep USB thumb drives, you won't see any contention at the port.

I would love to have a USBC hub that could connect to a PD display and deliver 100W from there to the laptop , and data back to the display. So both data and power through the one port via the hub to the display.

I feel like they could have used less plastic in this model if they turned the usbC ports 90 degrees and made them closer together. Missed opportunity.

I see this hub will run headphones, what USB-C mics that don’t require external power?
Yes, anything that doesn't require an alt-mode will work. So usb-c headphones, usb-c Ethernet, usb-c storage, and usb-c microphones should all work. USB-C to DP or HDMI will not work.

Are there any docks that work with Thunderbolt with the DisplayPort plug? I have a bunch of Thunderbolt hard drives that I keep an old iMac around to network with.
In theory the TB3 to TB2 adapter apple sells would allow this to work with any TB3/TB4 port. Including a TB4 hub. You can even daisy chain the TB2 (mini-dp) branch. Tip you can get them open-box from Bestbuy for less than $30. Not bad even if you need a few. *Let me know if you need any more help.

can’t wait to see if it will do 4X external portable HDD. I bet it will just do 3 though.

The Caldigit Elements hub is Thunderbolt 4 - so it's significantly faster.

Whether that's necessary for your accessories is your decision.
I use the Element and overall it is a good performer. I do have some hiccups with it at times but that is related to many thunderbolt hubs. It also can run very warm but that too is fairly typical.

My preference would be all USB4 able to charge 60 - 100 w devices with ease and like this Belkin, not have issues too much when connecting or disconnecting items that draw power as in recharge.

Wow. Finally. A pure USB-C hub with no legacy bs ports. Been waiting 10 years for this.
Back in the day there were just plain USB-A hubs. I think still have a USB 2.0 one sitting around somewhere. Handy for when you needed to hook up a few desktop external hard drives, as they had their own DC power adapter so you just used the USB cable for the data connection.

lol wut? “Only hub on the market that does 10Gbps”?

For a few years I’ve been using this one that does 40Gbp/s, Thunderbolt 4, with multiple USB-C ports, and supports 8k and charging (10Gbps each): https://a.co/d/5I4uVA4

Or am I missing something?

Also I see Belkin has all their influencers getting the product leaving 5 star reviews on Amazon 🤪 All reviews are 5 stars, all got the product for free lol: https://a.co/d/gYZIStJ

Hmmm... This hub isn't offering a mixture of legacy port types, USB-A, HDMI, etc, it's a USB-C hub (i.e. expands a single USB-C port into 4 USB-C ports).

The picture shows a 15" MacBook Pro with first generation touchbar (no physical escape button). So it already has 4 Thunderbolt (USB-C) ports.

Current MacBook Pro 14 and 16 inch have only 3 USB-C ports.

So this hub has more utility with the newer MacBook Pro because they have less USB-C ports....

So this hub is 'sadly very much needed' in the new MacBook Pro's more than the MacBook Pro that is pictured.

So for four times the cost what does the cal digit elements hub get me apart from probably nicer materials?

If all you're doing is connecting USB drives and using them one at a time, then the CalDigit hub will give you no faster speed. But, the CalDigit's Thunderbolt ports will also handle DisplayPort to monitors, ethernet (to other computers with Thunderbolt ports), PCIe (if you connect a Thunderbolt drive/enclosure). Also, the data from the computer to the hub will be faster than 10 Gbps, so the multiple USB drives can likely communicate simultaneously at higher rates (assuming your not also driving monitors and what not).

Only hub on the market? This 3.2 Gen 2 was added to Amazon Dec 2022:

But it seems that one doesn't use the external power to power devices so says 2 drives max.
I don’t give much stock in those computer generated name drop ship devices. Most of the time they flat out don’t work.

FWIW the US version of the UK one you linked to seems to be: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BND5487P
